I can only imagine it patched and fully loaded.
would need a lot more cables and time !
I love seeing massive systems like yours @devicex
“Hey, hand me that 16ft patch cable!” XD
Nicely executed. Very clean work.
Where did you source the rails?
Thanks! Got them directly from gietec in Germany
This is definitely THE MAD MAD SCIENCE LAB!!!
My new under cart just arrived. I am so happy with how it turned out. I had it made for me by trainees in wodd and metal works, I just provided the drawings (linked post above).
We are currently renovating. I could convice my wife that the best place for my Kosmo and his friends is this 4 meter long wall in our living room. once the walls are freshly papered and painted this will look realy nice. I imagine the guitars and alike hanging by their necks on the wall and more musical stuff left and right of the cart…
that’s a real nice base cab . one of these days I will not be in a hurry / lazy and actually build some nice furniture grade cabinets for my modular .
I’ve been gradually building my Kosmo modular for the past 3 years. I go through periods where I make a whole bunch of progress, then I hit months where I don’t touch it at all because I get scunnered by a road-block.
I finally finished the 2700 Twin T Drummr today, which I installed in my four row custom case with:
- 2x Power Supplies
- 1x 113 Performance Filter
- 1x 1153 Bounce…
- 1x 1161 Dual Buffered Multiple
- 2x 4710 Safety Valve
- 1x DIY Format Jumbler that I designed.
I have kits left to build:
- 1x 1145 VCLFO
- 1x 1158 VCADSR
- 1x 2399 Triple Splashback Delay
- 1x 1181 Double VCA
- 1x 1222 Performance VCO
I also have a 1114 Filter Grr that I built but couldn’t get to work, so will need to troubleshoot that further or try building a new one in future. Similarly, I need to decide if I wire up the power supplies together, or get two separate plugs. I can’t remember what the original intention was.
My patience for DIY is so low and I get frustrated as my knowledge about electronics is limited, but it’s good to see gradual progress!
Just ordered the 4051 Plexquencer, 1158 VCADSR, 2 OF THE 2001 KEYBOARD SEQUENCERS, 1148 MOD STATION QUAD LFO AND A 1221 OSCILLATOR EXPANDER.
Its actually harder to source the wood than the components her in the Isle of Man sadly.
Seems like only 3 years.
Its not truly Kosmo format, in that my panels are 3 1/2" by 8 1/2", but its got big jacks and runs on ±12v. Its taken about four years to get here, and now I need more cases!
That looks awesome, great setup
Looks great. I am curious about the choice of size. Was there a specific reason you chose these dimensions?
I would say laziness and lack of foresight. I based it on 8 1/2 x 11 paper which gave me the easiest and most efficient way to layout the most panels when cutting out the hardware store sheet metal that I first used when making panels. When I went back and redid my panels using plexiglass I was basically locked in on those dimensions because I didnt want to make new cases based on better dimensions.
Neat !
