KOSMO Setup pics

None more black!

Taptastic!

I painted one of my old modules with Black 2.0 a while back. Probably should have done a second coat or something but it looked ok

Looks great!

What is the PCB at the back of your case?

It’s the motherboard for a Mega Drive, was planning on putting it in the back of the case with LMNC’s break out controls on a panel

New setup with the MPC as my new “brain” sequencer.
(I still have one dual kick module to finish but, shhh nobody needs to know)

What a beauty. Let’s hear it!

  • I am making progress on my backlog. four of the official LMNC modules missing till I got them all built at least once. (sequencer, midi-muso, midi-cv and expander) (+ upcoming voice)
  • If this look like a mixture between your grandma’s living room and childs place that is because it is both

  • My prototype drawings for a future cart to place the whole thing one
  • Pure coincidence that someoe famous around here built whells for his synth too
  • I imagine a metal frame with wooden inlays
  • Doulbesided as all my cases (front and back are potentialy playable)
  • 19’’ rack equipment on the left side, two drawers on the right
  • Drawers for keys (center) and mixer (right)
  • Space for speakers under the keys
  • Integrated cable management
  • Handles on both ends (not pictured)
  • Individually moveable heavy duty wheels
  • Like a workshop trolley but synth style
  • Annotations are german but i think you get it… (front, right, back, top, bottom)

Looks like a great concept! I have a question. 19+63+40=122, and the top is 160cm. Are the vertical dividers/sides are extremely thick (~9.5cm), or I am missing something?

19 inch are about 48.2cm
==>
48+63+40=151

i calculated with about 2cm per wall

I missed the inches, makes sense then!

Wahooo !! That looks amazing !!

This four-voice setup is beginning to be playable in a possible live-sense.

Voice 1: Two #1222:s controlled by expander with LMNC ADSR and LFO, going through a my own 2xVCA&mixer (to control their balance) to LMNC filter GRRR and triple splashback delay.

Voice 2: A very work in progress wavetable&sample -based module I’m developing with Daisy, going through my version of MS20 low pass filter and similar VCA as voice 1, to a Daisy-based multieffect (with non-working chorus…), and VCA and filter are controlled by a dual ADSR I designed.

Voice 3: Behringer Brains fitted to a Kosmo panel, a MI Plaits clone with the same ADSR and VCA.

Voice 4: Drums in an Eurorack conversion panel. Three voice drum-sample module with reverb, mostly toms. Ladik Drumboy for kick, snare and hihat. Erica Synths Drums for main kick drum and snare. Those are summed in a small mixer I designed, going then to a Erica Synths Pico Drive, then to Zlob multimode filter where low passed signal goes to mixer and high passed to LMNC spring reverb and then to mixer. I should actually change it so that the low passed goes to the Pico Drive to control signal level when resonance gets high. The spring reverb will distort so much that it does basically the same.

LMNC midimuso module creates the cv:s and gates and on the low right corner is my 4xLFO. And everything is summed with my own mixer module that has 6 modular level mono inputs with low and high pass filters, and two line level stereo inputs. It has line level stereo and summed mono outputs.
Sequencer for the whole thing is Korg SQ-64.

I’ll learn how to use this setup and design better 100x40 cm cases, these being 80 cm wide. Then have two 100 cm cases with proper closing lids and handles and more crazy modules and effects as these are quite tame. Atleast if you don’t consider that drums always go through a distortion and basically all delays and reverbs can be made to distort and feedback infinitely…
