LMNC furby underwear? Asking for a friend

I have two on the go both cem3320 based! but it doesn’t hurt to make a smaller one of the ms20’s easier to have 2 side by side then setup like an ms20 I guess! plus I need smaller ones for some less wiggly synth voices! so itll be up soon that one. nowt fancy just smaller and maybe more clipping LED’s

hahaha. do they need to be furry? I mean I do have plenty of furnby skins, could probably make a fair few! all sizes

hoodie zip or no zip that is the question

patch good shout! Kosmo too that would be cool. I found a cool thing about the kosmo badges the other day! they sort of act like nails. I got the badge I have and pushed it into my case with a wooden mallet, and now its like a permanent kosmo emblem on the road case

zippy , easier to control temp

Yes, definitely prefer zipped!

Normally I would say pull over… but zippy seems to be more popular lol.

Higher forward voltage, lower forward voltage, or literally more blinkenlights? :grinning:

(I don’t have an MS-20 so no idea what’s a closer to the original’s three small signal diodes; the “green LED” in Schmitz version (he doesn’t spell out what kind of green, but I assume he means old ones with ~2.1 V forward voltage) or the red ones that most LMNC builds seem to use, with lower forward voltages so earlier clipping. Intuitively I’d say the latter is closer since the diodes don’t see much current, but cannot compare.)

DEFINITELY zip…and maybe one that isn’t so heavy? I was just going to suggest a brand of hoodie that I literally wear every single day that I had purchased at a concert a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, I just looked and apparently I’ve worn it so much that the brand name has completely worn off :frowning:

I read on DIYstompboxes.com forum member Mark Hammer added different color LED’s (a red & green pair used in example) is intended to provide asymmetric clipping. I’m curious to experiment. Is the sound more pleasing like a tube if it was green & blue or red & yellow? Is asymmetric clipping different if the colors are put in the other way around?

Zipper definitely, but I’ll have to disagree on the not so heavy.

The heavier the better!

Yeah, testing different diodes is a favourite pastime among the stompbox crowd, but I’m not convinced all of it is that scientific :grinning: Tweaking the level knobs might have more impact than switching between diodes.

The practical effect of assymetric clipping depends on the waveform, but there’s enough capacitors on the way to those diodes that a lot of stuff will be roughly symmetrical around 0 V.

(for a bit more on diodes as voltage-controlled resistors, see here and the rest of that thread.)

AMAZING

was thinking about giving my euro one a Kosmetic upgrade but ill hold tight

have you thought much about some kind of chord machine without using seperate osc’s
like a super saw sound with a width function, then a cv controllable scroll like the arpitecht or harmonaig.

i find the weirdest sequences just rolling stepped random through one of those chord generators, I think it would be super cool to have one that has a really thick sound to it, to save myself patching it up

cv controllable unison too . . . . .

it could be a LMNC X FP Kosmo collab as i would use it on every song ever

That’s the reason I ordered one. I plan to nail it into the case I build.
