Sam usually makes a thread and he said it was tentative. I will move it there if he does.
so freaking excited to buy this. lol
Richard,
I stocked up on the flying saucer with arrow knobs Sam regularly uses in projects. All can be found sometimes at Love My Switches (when in stock.) I also stocked up on MXR style knobs which are workable in some instance but aren’t usually the same sizes. These are generally those that I stocked but I have a special place in my heart for the unusual ones. I find ridiculous vintage knobs suit my style. They’re not budget priced so I’m limiting them to ridiculous performance modules (1113 Performance Filter and 2399 Triple Delay) until someday people SLA 3D print Bakelite which I do believe will be possible.
I like big knobs and I cannot lie. Tho other panels try to deny.

i see there is mention on the site of th filter being changed
any chance its gonna be smaller? this one feels out of scale from everything else
I thought the entire point was to make it big to make sure it’s easy to find the cutoff knob when you’re jumping around in front of your modular?
I guess it’s not called the performance filter for nothing, the intention was to be BIG.
It could be easily halved.
It was a very early design, you can see a lot of progress in the way boards are being being created over the last 6 months with the dual hight boards simplifying things somewhat ( if being a little fidly…
If I am right, it’s the only one with an actual PCB file available.
@fluxpavilion why not have a go yourself and shrink it … I have learend so much about KiCad in the last 3 months it’s been so much fun… Yes 75% of the PCB so far have errors, but I am getting better. My first panel was BANG on , the second had a footprint error but just required drilling.

Think Sam said all he was gonna change in the new version was the size of the screw holes because they are different from the rest of the modules.
Store page says
This is only a very small run. I will have another filter soon. but i figured this would be a good place to start!
which sounds to me like more than just adjusting mounting holes…
Where you even begin to try and redesign it? Sounds like a pretty fun project
Halved? Try 1:25 scale
(ok, I’m cheating ; jacks and attenuators aren’t there)
EDIT: Also it’s 1:5 scale
Just take the schematic and condense it. Like the one in fredriks post. you main limitation is the hardware.

Would love to make something like the make noise qpas
Two resonant movable peaks, I guess it’s like 3 filters in one, two for movable resonant peaks and fed into one more as a master
If it was request line I’d put in my $0.02 to standardize screw holes and to draw artwork with those finer lines that are in nearly every module except itself. I love its layout and I have new old stock knobs I would love to use on it.

Out of curiosity, will the MIDI to CV be polyphonic? I am planning (very tentatively) a four voice synth with 16 CEM3340s and a polyphonic MIDI to CV would be awesome. Nonetheless, it seems like that’s not really easy (or even possible? CV needs a DAC and it seems like you can only use one DAC per arduino? Is it even arduino?)
At any rate thank you for all the modules and schematics you’ve been putting out, your stuff is always great!!
AAAAND i just realized there’s a CV-12 chip which makes the arduino unnecessary. I spent HOURS searching “polyphonic midi to CV” and im just now finding out there’s a doohickey (midimuso cv12 pcb kit) that does that for cheap? oh well. Id still love to see a lookmumnocomputer midi to cv module though, your instructions are a lot more noob-friendly
The midi-to-cv module will in fact be based on the Midimuso.
im nearly Done on one similar but much bigger hahahaha. many a peak
well yep! if you see the module request forum, the next module but 1 is a modular version of the midimuso with tweaks
watch this space. Just had a thought about a smaller one of the performance filters, I could do with one too. This newer filters taking a while to get right so ill try get a smaller version (5cm) up and out as soon as! got a few tweaks I think might be of interest too.
Are you sticking to MS-20 style filters, or going in some other direction?
