you wait!!! haha soon you’ll have 10 meters
I am so there for this!
think my wife will limit me to only one whole room in the house …
Sam,
If it happens a whole new link network would open for sequencing next to the upcoming link network for driving oscillators and then mixing them. I’m excited about the driver and mixer modules that were coming down the line. I’m totally down for the bus connections which in theory could link different cases.

Which to focus on next?
big button/wav trigger modules?
123 ADC and DAC 123 modules?
Oscillator Driver module?
Sequencer?
im working on all 4 groups, but dont know what to focus on next. This will be after the delay ( out this week) Megadrone (out in 2 weeks) Midi - CV (out in 2-3 weeks).
I feel like the sequencer would be a good shout personally, other than that I’m excited for the 123ADC!
I’m still working on my 4x4 Cartesian Matrix sequencer, but would love a proper PCB/Panel set for one of yours to go in my 100% LMNC case! Plus its a pretty big hole in the lineup currently, adding a sequencer would mean you could actually produce a ‘playable’ musical instrument using just your kits, no external controllers required.
Also super stoked for the delay module coming this week, it’ll be nice to get back to module building. This past month (thanks to your VC RC video with that Grasshopper earlier in the year) I have fallen down a RC Car hole, but I am just putting the finishing touches on my racer today so it’ll be back to modules soon!
Oh, and is there any chance of a nice reverb to go with that delay?
yeah! well im working on a more bench sequencer. but I have got a couple of emails about wanting the keyboard sqeucerncer. ooh the cartesian sounds cool! I look forward to seeing that :D.
im looking forward for the midi-cv to come out that will gel a whole box together I think.
what kind of racers?? like mardave?!?!?!
reverb not yet! but it wont be long I dont think
you can actually turn this delay into a reverb, its made to get from chorus to reverb sounds. a lot of guitar pedal reverbs used 3 pt2399 chips, and this delay uses 3 so if means if you offset them just a bit you can get that reverb tone. but I am working on a spring module but that isnt even close yet!@
Theres a thread for the Cartesian round here somewhere with the panel design, but I havent updated it for a while, the button polling code is doing my nut and I don’t want to post something broken. Basically works the same as the keyboard sequencer, with the whole cartesian function being implemented in the software. It steps from CV, but getting the interface to work is proving slightly more tricky (especially when you push more than one button at once) but I shall get there.
It was frustrations with that which lead me to go build some cars! So far its a massivly modified Tamiya Hornet (with actual modern CVA oil shocks all round, which required a lot of 3D printed parts), a Schumacher Cougar Laydown 2WD race car (like, bonafide race car you might see on the podium at the IFMAR worlds, if only I could drive that well), and todays is a Tamiya Dark Impact DF-03 4WD. Just had a load of hop ups turn up from Japan this morning so I can actually upgrade the motor and handling, now its fitting them and onto doing a cool airbrushed paint job. Decided to build this third one since it takes ages to prep, setup, clean, tear down and maintain the Cougar (despite being awesome and moving like greased lightning) and I wanted something I could just run in the park on grass without having to think too hard about it, lol. Once the lockdown ends I might end up joining my local RC club so I can run the Cougar on a carpet track and just leave it set up for it, then use the DF-03 for dirt/clay/everything else. This is, of course, assuming that it doesn’t immediately strip its entire gearbox on the spicier motor .
I vote sequencer, then big button/wav trigger
Sequencer is a good shout even though I am doing my own, I mostly built the panel mounted stripboard verison but have never finished it off.
I started working on my own MIDI-CV just before Christmas, it was just as you had the one for the Mega-Gameboy done… Then I lost all my code and never got back to it…

After the Midimuso CV-12 the 123ADC and the Driver!

@lookmumnocomputer do you have a BOM for the delay already? or could you at least let me know which value pots it needs? cheers
Hey @lookmumnocomputer, looks like these components are pretty easy to source!

Quantity should be 10, not 1, on the pots
And 5 LEDs
Good catch, the pots list a quantity of one, but are listed in designators column. Checked through the list to verify, and have made the alterations in-line in the post.
Good post, but it really should be in its own thread, if you want people to find it.
I have been planning to use vintage knobs for the upcoming 2399 module. I already have the big big. What I’m noticing is that in all of Sam’s posts the big knob is almost right up to the edge. I’ve compared the knobs on my own and they’re almost exactly the diameter but my vintage knob is about 1mm larger. Is it going to be too big for the neighboring parts of the modular?
Vintage Knob Gang
-Fumu / Esopus
From the first photo here 2399 triple splashback delay there clearly is more than a mm between the edges of the big knob and the board… I’m guessing he’s using this
https://www.rapidonline.com/sci-rn-114b-arrow-control-knob-37mm-32-0120
which is 37 mm diameter.
I have some MF-A05s coming but at 45 mm they’ll be too large for this. And for almost anything, but I can dream. MF-A04s [as linked above, “Boss style”] are 33 mm and should be okay.
The “small” knobs he uses I would guess are these
and the MF-A02 at almost exactly the same diameter would be a good match, but Tayda doesn’t have it and AliExpress stores mostly have only the 6mm shaft version. The MF-A01 linked above is okay but on the small side.
