A litany of dumbassery

I’m still trying to dial in my printing setup (Ender 3 V2 with various small upgrades such as Z probe) to print ABS properly for this specific reason… PLA is really easy to print but really can’t handle a minute in the sun, ABS discolors with UV, PETG is messy to print and requires a lot of post-processing to look presentable… wish there were a miracle material that did it all.

It’s just a little wavey, it’s still good it’s still good! :frowning:

well that’s a new record. This might have been a stupid idea after all…

I’m a bit concerned what’s going to happen to those electrolytics when you plug it in.

Did I mention I’m working on some voltage-controlled pyrotechnics?

There is ASA, a lot of people are starting to use it instead of PETG. I have yet to try it.

I just discovered that I installed my protection diodes in the less documented, and less commonly used “Explosion Only” operation mode.

After figuring out that problem, I realized that I designed my entire layout around the less documented, and less commonly used “Ignition” mode of my op-amp.

Just speedrunning through every stupid mistake you’re supposed to make at least once :sunglasses:

Decided I’d do my soldering outside today. In the sun with in a very well ventilated area… just enjoying the day.

Now I look like a strawberry and vanilla ice cream box. (I never seem to tan so much so no Neapolitan)
XD

And as an added bonus I didn’t order enough female headers… I thought 4 strips of 1x40 would be enough. Oh how wrong I was haha!

As it happens, a 555 chip has the same size as a TL072.
Only difference, the 555 smokes nicely when used instead of the TL072. :face_with_peeking_eye:

Should some idiot have acquired a surprisingly inexpensive bag of 100nf capacitors, rated for a voltage more than sufficient for synthesizers, and it turns out, when the voltage is 310v the caps are those big chonky bois, what should the hypothetical idiot do with them?

Use them anyway… The leads seem pretty long, just squeeze them in.

Build a 300 V synthesizer.

O yeah, patching a 300V synth…

Bzzzz first jack is plugged… Bzzzzzz second jack is plugged…
Bzzzz ouch !!! Never touch the unconnected end of a patch cable :stuck_out_tongue:

The plan is to make a synth I can take on the stage, eventually. Looks like I also have the DIY smoke machine arranged.

Who’s the utter moron who sent these boards, plural, out for fabrication without updating fills and doing DRC?
