I think it’s a mistake (all build are with one pot)
It’s more simple with a schem, but you can follow the connections on the stripboard

I managed to step through and breadboard it. I tested it and worked out that the 2x pot was definitely a mistake. Looks like the pot is for volume? That’s the effect it gave me at least. I was expecting the pot to adjust fuzz.
After that I then added what I guess I’d call a variable bypass so I can sort of adjust the fuzz. Having a play with it, I can turn the bypass all the way up and volume all the way down to get a mostly untainted sound - or I can turn the bypass all the way down and the volume all the way up to get full fuzz (there’s also a switch to cut the variable bypass and only give the fuzz)
