My build progress

Been busy with multitudinuous things today

1: I made a passive multiple today, designed by Kristian Blåsol (of Modular in a Week fame):

2: I also made an active multiple, designed by @Bas:

B.t.w. in order to make the white LEDs (they signal the presence of a signal) in this multiple not shine too brightly I ended up using a 100k resistor.

Man o man these LEDs are bright, but 100k !?

Dont think over shit.

Two modules in one day! Okay, this one barely counts.

This is technically a PCB/panel kit if you want to sell it :joy:

PCB? Where? I don’t see it!

Circuit board, though not printed. The panel doubles as a mounting for the components, which is the point.

Yeah, they’re one and the same

When people talk about through hole components, that’s not what they mean.

Rat distortion panel wired and done

Vca/mixer finally complete after getting sufficient box jacks in a long awaited tayda order today. However when I went to test, I picked up that I had put the power header on backwards, lucky! Took ages to get it off and clean the holes. I need a rwflow station!

It looks like we’re planning the exact same kit, although I was planning to add some 10k resistors to some of the hookups in order to make some of them logarithmic for a bit more variety.

To desolder something you might be better off with one of those desoldering stations that use a vacuum pump to get rid of the solder:

I’ve used not this but a similar device in a professional environment for some time and desoldering stuff, even large ICs without damaging the IC or the PCB, can be a breeze (once you master the skill).

Does anybody have a mouser link for the correct jacks for the LMNCs?

These should work: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Amphenol-Audio/ACJS-MIVS-3?qs=6pL34a%2BWZkvd%2FZNfMz5rWw%3D%3D although they are switched mono so have only three terminals. The footprint will accept these: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Amphenol-Audio/ACJS-MIV-5?qs=t8%2F5FiDdxGbV%2FTm03ByMkg%3D%3D which are switched stereo so have five terminals. You don’t need the stereo terminals but either will work.

At Tayda these https://www.taydaelectronics.com/hardware/6-35mm-1-4-plugs-jacks/6-35mm-1-4-stereo-phone-jack.html are less than half the price of the above mono jack and are what I use. I use a lot, so the price difference adds up fast.

To deal with a reversed power header, you can usually pry the box off and put it back on the other way around. No desoldering needed.

Hindsight! Thanks for the tip!

I need to do this, my solution was to clip the other side, losing the protections of the design.

Love it! I feel a lil better now

I felt like replacing my old NLC Sloths that I stripboarded quite some time ago , and @analogoutput ‘s pretty much gave me the push to just order the board (had no idea they were so cheap).
Used a 2.5cm KOSMO blank.
