My build progress

I use a chromebook and the web IDE which avoids a lot of this issue… but adds a few more :frowning:

OH, I DON’T KNOW GO TO THE DRUGSTORE OR SOMETHING AS FATHER AND SON!

Not a build in the sense of everything else in the thread, and definitely not perfect, but the CDC now recommends people wear masks in public in the US and DAMMIT I’M GOING TO TAKE MY SHOT!

Wanted the doepfer switched multiple but it didn’t have enough LEDs

in my simple opinionm, basic masks will no stop you ingesting the virus…

But any basic mask is going to arrest the velocity and spread of any particle, so if we all had a hankerchief in our face it will make a difference … why do WHO not see this as a terribly minor step?

Slight nitpick, its inhalation, not ingestion you have to worry about as we know it.

My first Kosmo format module, an adaptation of the Eurorack module Mikrophonie by Music Thing Modular. Couldn’t resist calling this version Mikrokosmos (after the cycle of piano pieces by Bartok. Not the song by BTS.)

The scratch area on the front panel works great!

And no, I do not have a Kosmo case to put it in, yet. Not until after we’re out of isolation. I mean, Home Depot is open, but I’m not going there now if I don’t have to.

Yeah, I have four more of each, if anyone’s interested DM me your mailing address. If you want a panel and want to send a few bucks to offset costs I can give you an address for PayPal. But if you’re broke that’s OK. For the PCBs forget about payment, just ask for one.

Due to [gestures at everything] it might take a few days or a week or something to get them in the mail… I’m not going anywhere but the grocery store these days, and if they don’t have mailers in stock… well, I’ll deal with that when it comes.

KiCad files and Gerbers and such are on my Github:

PCBWay did a nice job with mine.

Can we count the massive guilt-trip I’ve assembled over wasting the time I could have spent on music or soldering (in the same room I work in all week) just watching youtube videos and Star Trek:Discovery as a build? I started to fire up the DAW at one point and decided it was too much of a commitment.

I feel you there. What you got to remember is balance. To be creative, you sometimes need to consume other media. I think we are all a bit stressed, so dont be too hard on yourself for not doing anything “productive”. Set some easily attainable goals and do them! That way you dont lose yourself to the couch potato mode, and still dont have a panic attack cause you arnt doing anything. Feel free to constructively procrastinate.

been doing the same [ getting lost on YouTube,t.v. ] . it must be hard doing your " work" in the same place as everything else [ hobbies ] . I am glad I don’t have to do that , but the no income is putting a dent in purchasing stuff for hobbies . luckily I had stuff already waiting to be done , just no time because I was working . now I have nothing but time on my hands , its just trying to stay motivated becomes the issue now.

I like that board mounting technique!

here is a better shot . the aluminum L channel is the 8`lengths that you get from homedepot cut to 3/4" length [ 2cm ], stand offs are from electronics goldmine [ online surplus deal ] .
