Very very very first sounds from Vocode-O-Matic A12+2, the analog vocoder I’ve been working on for a while. I’ve added some delay and reverb and panned the signal a bit.
The modulator used in the video is a drum loop and the carrier a pad like chord. So no voice!
Note: this is an acoustic recording (made using a Zoom H4n Pro).
It has the LED’s for indication, the switch for on/off, uses existing mountings, its easy to find, you don’t necessarily have to remove other modules to plug a new one in. My present cases are quite shallow and the back mounted buss fouls most modules, why hide it
Yeah, everything bar the midi cv fits at present. They are good as you can put them away quite easily but not so good for a lot of messing with
When it’s warm outside I am going to build something bigger, now I am committed! May keep these anyway for other things, the cheapstep sits nicely in the other smaller one.
I tested a VCLFO based on the simple schematic and i add all the pot, invert out … : test ok !
and finished the Dual Quantizer @analogoutput, not tested, just power on : the arduino led is on and no smoke
If you have any issues with poor or scratchy signal on that mixer change the caps! Someone on some electronics or test equipment YouTube channel had one with issues and he did that to repair it. Most of the caps he pulled measured way out of spec. There are a lot of caps in a mixer like that so I wouldn’t rush to do it if it’s working though.
@sebastian I can second PCB’s from AmazingSynth. I’ve picked up several from him and they are all really nice quality. I’ve built 4 Clouds modules and they are probably one of the easier MI modules to build. I would highly suggest only using hot air though.
Thank you for your tips! I have e.g. read that braids should be simple and much easier than clouds. This confused internet is driving me crazy
I’ve never soldered SMD either. First I ordered such a USB microscope and then next month the hot air station, do you have a recommendation for a cheap one for me. AND what is very important, which flux pen, the prices range from 4.99 € to 50 €, I know that I should use “no clean” pens, but nothing more … my solder has 3.5% flux and flows like butter . I would of course like to refill the pen. Can’t you brew this stuff yourself?
Sorry for so many posts in a row, but I have something else here that might be interesting. You’re always on the lookout for colored nuts, just saw that my regular shop has them made of METAL
Yes !!! my @analogoutput Dual Quantizer work at the first time (ouf ! I had a little apprehension with this module, my 1st PCB as if it was very precious )
very nice module thx Rich !
and also thx @eric for PCB and help
just only one thing about the “calibrage” : how to make a good adjust test with the 2 trimpot plz ?
