Made this for my sister-in-law’s birthday.
You will hear from me again, since I want to start again where I left my diy synth. I still want an electronic bottle glockenspiel… But I gave up when my solenoids didn’t work when I gave it 12V. I thought it would be a simple project. In the meantime. Enjoy this completely acoustic cover I made…

I love how in the end its just a flaming ball of wax.

Yes. That was a nice unplanned benefit. I think even the cake was on fire at the end. I did have to ventilate the house really well as it smelled of burned butter afterwards.

When I started with the first candle I still had thoughts of eating it with a nice cappuccino. Those dreams vanished relatively quickly.

How beautiful. Love the mix of electronic and acoustic instruments… Not only with your composition, but in general I love the combination. In any shape or form.

It also sounds like a quite “classical” piece… Harmonically and also voicing wise (as far as my ears can tell). I’m thinking of an atmosphere where this would be sutiable. Some dark ending when most of the dust has settled. Or something underwater, with a hint of danger… Dark alleyway where something horrendous is happening? As a bit of a contrast.

I’m always surprised what people hear in my music.

But thx for the comment !

Thinking about Weltschmerz 2 a thought struck my mind:
What about a funeral of a heroine, where the music starts slowly, showing a child suggesting that great things will become of her and it takes you in episodes through the major events in her life. Each pause in the music introduces a different part of her life. But throughout the episodes there is always this tone that tells you something tragic will happen in the future that is unavoidable. The viewer can see it coming but can not prevent it. And indeed the viewer realizes as he sees her die that in the end death comes to us all.

But give me a minute and I’ll think of something entirely different and much more uplifting!

Maybe a topic for a new thread?

Could be interesting to read about this.

Will start that topic! But will look at it one more time next weekend. Hoping I’m missing something obvious.

Ha! That was certainly an interesting one to drop into. Hope to see you again.
