Mail Day Thread

There’s a real issue with the distributor. My last order from them was packed so poorly that ALL of the boards were missing. I literally received an empty cardboard sleeve with my address on it. A previous order of boards had the exact same issue, but fortunately they didn’t slip out until they were in my mailbox.

Sadly the most recent order included the very last MIDIMUSO on the planet, so I still don’t have one even though they replaced the other boards :frowning:

My latest design arrived!

I’m far from the first person to design breadboard helpers, but my design can support either jacks or pots, because i’m cheap and i wasn’t gonna pay for two designs. Jacks are mounted at a cursed 40 degrees angle.

This should greatly improve stability, especially for pots, at the cost of using more space.

First time ordering a panel, v-cut panelization done automatically by JLC, something i wanted to test for future projects. €12 shipped. They cut very easily and cleanly, i feel no need to sand down the edges.

I might not manage to make use of all 150 boards i now have.

Fabbed panels, but for the second time in three orders JLCPCB put the order number on the front of the panel instead of where I’d specified.

Hm. Wonder if I should design the panels with the front as the “back” layer and vice versa — maybe then if they mis-place the order number it’ll at least be on the back side?

Did you use their serial number removal service that went free recently? I think that’s the sort of stuff they’d accept as a refundable issue.

Last time i did a PCBA design with SMD assembly, they added a few unnecessary tooling holes to my design. I asked their support to understand if i did something wrong, they were helpful and acknowledge it was a mistake, and suggested to always pick the option to control production files to double-check their work, heh. (I didn’t push for a rebate, just wanted to see if my own tooling holes were wrong)

It was just “specify location”. I filed a complaint both times, last time they gave me a coupon.

I’ve done 6 panels so far with no problem specifying the position.
Perhaps your “JLCJLCJLCJLC” string was somewhere they couldn’t screenprint easily?
I’m sure you got the right number of JLCs - the “banana problem”.

It’s the same place it always is — it’s in my Kosmo panel KiCad template. And the other panel I got done in the same order had the location used.

Not really mail. My girlfriend got me a modular t-shirt for xmas. Winning. I think I will keep her.

The last of these, the Tayda order, arrived yesterday, so last night I sent out a Tayda order.

I did 3 tayda orders last week because I’m both impatient and impulsive. Perhaps even a little disorganized.

yeah miss that one item , then the shipping is more that one the part . time to get a few " stock " items and you end up spending as much on the single part order as you did the first order , no I haven’t done that lol

No, this time it was more “Oh sure, just after I order from Tayda we get the schematic and BOM for the Plexquencer.”

Nice prints on those PCBs.

Some more light reading.
Well, it weights about 2 kg.

I have this too. It was a great reference tool and has some great advice about scaling and powering projects. Could you drop a link in the ‘books/resources’ thread which I cannot find today.

I bought it via bol.com which is a shop that may or may not not ship internationally, I’m not sure.
