I just told my husband it’s for educational purposes,
actually she’s pretty good about me getting synth stuff there are worse habits / hobby’s I could have .
Decided to make one of these Hyves for my brother who rides the train daily and loves small pocket instruments to kill time. I now need to plan out a daughter board to step down to 9v and get output levels so they can be fed in to other modules and mount it in the upcoming kosmo. Vague idea is it’s a high polyphony and directly assessable keyboard for flourishes like what Sam uses his MS10 for.
You have a 3D printer, no? The power supply in that could get you up and running before you find a dedicated one.
Any PC power supply should be able to provide ample current at 5 Volts.
Every time I see it I wonder if Stasis Leak is a Red Dwarf reference.
Just a few bits I was low on, pots to finish the splashback delay, jack’s ⅛ and ¼.
Can’t wait to get to messing with the delay =D
I have been enjoying the heck out of it. But i need knobs - my fingers are getting cramped from twisting bare pots!
I got a new sequencer! So far, I like it very much! Especially the midi effects are great! A few weeks before I was wondering what that even means and dismissed them as stupid, but now I basically love them!! xD Interface is quite more difficult than the beatstep, but you can play along to a running sequence, which is impossible with the beastep!!
(The thing in the plastic box is a microdexed touch, which is also a great little device! Be aware that touch screens do not work though thick ugly plastic boxes, who would have thought )
I was planning to use my few RPI Pico and Zero to learn and implement new things, but after their recent incident of insulting their users on social media, I don’t want to support the Raspberry Pi company to any extent, so I was looking for a way to use up my stock on someone else’s project, and settled on putting together a few EuroPi (in kosmo form factor) to use up my stock. I just received the boards today! I skipped buying faceplates, of course, since I will run wires from the top board.
Well that was a quick delivery, ordered befaco mixer and out1u yesterday and they arrived today!
Already assembled the out 1u, and recorded it to make a video!
And I actually talk in it =O
No idea when I’ll have it edited together tho
While this was arriving my use of it in my brain changed fast. It was supposed to be part of a composer’s workbench exclusively dedicated to Kawai and be both MIDI master controller and the origin of some drum kit sampling. It can be that in a “sounds cute might delete later” but the destined use of this is entertaining myself in a wasteful way. I need dumpster fire synthesizers like this.

I wonder who would have nabbed “One Finger Ad-Lib” as a project name if it wasn’t for that pesky trademark.
@Arie let us know how it goes , my old Leader Scope is showing it’s age in it’s lack of function and claroity and my cheap hand held DSO never seems to work as expected.
It works, can’t say very much more cus im by no means an expert, but i think for the price you can’t go very far wrong. So far only used it to look at waveforms and take frequency readings.
The ppl that claim to know oscilloscopes will tell you that anything cheaper than the ‘budget’ DSO offerings from the reputable brands (300-400 €) is trash, but as far as i could find out Hantek is decent 2nd tier manufacturer that has been around for a while now. So I’m guessing its plenty fine for my inexpert use.
Its got 100mhz and 2mV/div resolution while the reputable brands offer only 5-10mV/div for double the price. Ofcourse, I’ve no way of checking if this is a chinese style inflated spec or not.
If seen this one offered at a professional/prosumer electronics webstore for around €250.
It costs €180 at Aliexpress however, and will not incur duty payments so thats the actual price.
For a few tens of euros more there’s versions with more mhz and/or function generator
