Also got the on-off-(on) switches today from ebay that I ordered. Took a bit longer, as expected, to get here from the UK, but by only a few days.
I hate paying for shipping so Iād rather just do a big order and call it done. I also very much dislike having to wait for parts. Iām trying to get into the habit of remembering to only do Tayda orders around the 3rd week of the month when they have their monthly 15% off sales.
didnāt know that . thanks for the info !
funny I didnāt even notice that , yes there is light at the end of this dark time ā¦
Has anyone from stateside here in the forum ever ordered something from Japan that got āpresented to customs?ā I have an Order from Tokyo Tape Music Center stuck in Chicago right now and am wondering what to expect.
If you can predict Tayda sales youāre a better prophet than Iā¦ Last year they were doing them on average about every 2 weeks, but sometimes longer gaps and at least once significantly shorter (two sales something like 9 days apart). This year so far only one a month.
lmfaoā¦ my tayda order came in 2 days agoā¦ I built the ADSRā¦ and realizedā¦ I forgot to order Knobsā¦ -_-
You probably have a few other modules with a couple knobs you hardly ever use, right?
Ooh! Never nick a knob from a working project. Bad mojo!
So a local that I previously purchased a Delptronics Drum Module and Expansion Module crom asked me if I wanted a gift and I said sure, as long as itās not like an unsolicited dick pic or something weirdā¦ he was like no no, I have this module that Iām never going to build, would you like it?
I was like sure!
Well he stopped by my work today and dropped this off!!
OMG, I was just watching the Div Kid video on Elements and thinking it was super nice! I need locals like yours
yeah I have parts that have been in Chicago sense the 14th of last month there must be a mountain of stuff piling up there.
It aināt modular and it aināt LMNC but this was the most beautiful sounding Piano module ever and it was in the mail today! This is my second one. I sold the first one to buy my wifeās engagement ring back in the day. It predates Midi over USB so now I have to figure out how to use one of my other modules (Mother 32? Neutron? BSP?) as a midi converter if I want to sequence it out of DAW. For $70 itās in great shape even at 30 years old.
I just spent about Ā£40 on a Midisport 2x2 to handle older MIDI equipment like that. I grew tired of using those cheap but really dodgy USB-MIDI cables that drive a cart and horse through the MIDI spec.
Itās weird, when I place these orders they seem to make some sort of sense in my head, and when they arrive I say āwhat was I thinking?ā Not that I wonāt use these parts, but some Iāll have no use for very soon. But Iāll probably use two of the jacks in a week or so, and one of the LEDs, and Iāve been itching to do some Nano breadboarding.
yeah https://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/ the online surplus place gets me all the time . a couple bucks for a hundred of this or that , that I might use someday . I have gotten much better now that funds have really tightened up ,so I only get stuff I know I will use .
Superb module. USB MIDI adapters under Ā£10 on eBay.
