Mail Day Thread

Again, not Kosmo but since Buchla is dragging their feet/avoiding my emails, I went for a TTMC version of the 144 dual square to go with my Red Panels.

+1 for Lovemyswitches, although their on hand inventory has been too low for a couple of my orders.

Ordered some big bags of common resistors from digi-key, unfortunately there is about 200 bags to open with one resistor in each one  think they lost money on this one

Are their breadboards any good?

I just saw one of these on Ebay, but for bass last week. I had never seen one before.

I couldn’t actually tell you honestly. I picked one up as I would like to try breadboarding, but I have never done it before. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

You may not know if its good, but you will prolly know if its bad. If the holes are janky and hard to get to work, if the circuits dont work despite you built them correctly, if they have bad labeling etc. I support tayda, but their breadboards a bad. The ones i got from amazon were worse though. my best breadboard came from radio shack back when.

Breadboards are one of those you get what you pay for things.

These are the ones im planning on picking up if im in the market for some again.

I just got these a few days ago, the “jumpers” are laughable being about nine inches long, but the boards so far seem to be fine. I built the 123ADC on one, had no issues.

Four highly miscellaneous items in four packages today: Voltage references, desoldering needles, crimp tool, and arcade buttons

Today was a cable day. 3.5 to 6.35, USB A to USB mini B, and a few 5-pin DIN MIDI cables with a MidiSport 2x2 so I can hook my older MIDI gear up to my laptop.

Some knobs arrived too, but they’re not in the photograph. Those are for my gaudi.ch Open Theremin, which I swear I will start using soon.

I cant for the life of me find the pinout schematics for a 5 pin arcade button (making an envelope trigger). Do you have any luck?

The 5-pin ones I have here have a detachable 3-pin SPDT microswitch and 2 pins for the LED/lamp (same as the ones in this video). That makes it pretty easy to figure out what’s what, so I assume yours are different  Photo/link?

Mine are 3 pins, simple SPDT.

Ya’know, I ordered a set of those desoldering needles off eBay where the item location was “Hebron, KY” about 3 weeks ago. My ass, Kentucky. Last I checked, no one was shipping all domestic shipments using DHL tracking numbers.
