We literally have people doing this during pandemic because “wearing masks encroaches on my freedoms”:
And those same people incite violence against BLM protesters that arnt heavily armed on the steps of a federal building. They say when the paramilitary forces beat the shit out of blm protesters, gas them, and ghost them off the streets that its “law and order”.
This picture was taken not even a month between these events. Now we have 17 year olds murdering protesters in the streets with a bigass rifle. No police officer pulled guns or tasered him. We get guns pulled, gassed and tasered with no hostility from protesters. I have more than a 1000 videos archived just personally of police brutality with severe injuries i have just to show people that dont believe it. We have people running over many protesters with huge trucks. Its a meme.

everyone here seems to believe in sane facts and like most artists and musicians tend to be left leaning if not full on liberal . but we should end this now before someone gets butt hurt and things get shitty .

There are a substantial number of conservative thinkers advocating for the Democratic candidate not because they support his politics (they emphatically do not) but because the incumbent is a corrupt fantasist who admires authoritarian rulers and often puts their interests before those of his country.
Maybe the New York Times thinks it has to pretend it’s politics as usual, but if we did so it would be playing into the hands of the American oligarch.
When the party of Lincoln becomes the party of Qanon, the pretence has to end.

Not only South Tyneside, also Gateshead. I think my region is heading for another lockdown.
Edit: the schools are back and I must say it lends the scene a much needed air of optimism. I was walking Jodie the Labrador puppy one afternoon this week when a couple of schoolkids on their way home stopped to befriend her and ask questions about her. One of them lives with an adult Labrador and was amazed that the puppy (who isn’t really that small) was so small.

Wear your masks outside, don’t get lazy. My wife got Covid outside on a bike trail. Had to quarantine her and had the kids and myself tested a week later. Oddly my son and I tested negative but the baby was positive. There isn’t a lot of info on what to do if half the house has it so called all the doctors and they told us we had to be infected and received a false negative, so we all locked down together. Unfortunately my daughter got ahold of grandmas cell phone and got both grandparents sick, nearly killed grandpa. We were asymptomatic, you would have never known the kids or myself had anything at all, not even a sniffle. Everything is back to normal, whatever that is now. Just wanted to say to everyone here, DONT get lazy!!! We got super lucky…stay vigilant, stay safe.

It’s all happening again in my region. The UK figures overall are worrying too. R is obviously above 1 in most of the country and this means an exponential rise until our resources are overwhelmed. My wife and I have both booked our free NHS flu vaccinations, because if either of us gets a bad dose the chances of being nursed adequately will be very low this winter. They’ll be too busy coping with the coming flood of Covid-19 cases.

Also just sharing what it’s like here in Melbourne Australia, we’re currently in nigh on “full lockdown” with only supermarkets a few select types of shops open, a curfew in place and mandatory facemasks when you’re out in public.
Melbourne is the scorn of the country at the moment (or maybe the saviours), as we’ve been experiencing a wave of cases of covid, and the rest of the country gets to return to a seemingly normal life. We’re seeing about 50 new cases a day, and this number is dropping as our Lockdown measures are being effective (in my judgement)
It’s been pleasant being at home so much (I’m working from home for one of the country’s largest supermarkets, so I’m fortunate to have ongoing work), as I have a baby so I get to be far more present.
We get alot of “bleed over” from USA culture and politicts in our country and accordingly, similar Q-Anon theories are surfacing and some people are getting swept up in it all.

Curious… Is “These Data Are” , considered correct in the US?
UK, is now limiting interaction again, it was bound to happen and was obvious from the first few days of relaxation months ago.
Personally I think a 99% Lock down for 3 weeks would just nail it. would have been easier to do before we came out of partial lockdown though. We were at manageble levels of admissions, and people were in a set work/nowork routine…

Preliminary results from a major population study estimate the coronavirus doubling time in England to be around 8 days, with evidence of acceleration in this rate towards the end of the sampling period, in late August and early September.
If this passes peer review it’s going to be very strong evidence that it’s back, even before winter temperatures force everybody indoors with nothing for it but to cough over one another for months on end. The study doesn’t cover other parts of the UK but the situation there isn’t likely to be very different.
France meanwhile is suffering even worse.
This shouldn’t be happening. The plan was to keep R under 1.0.
Edit: I just spotted this news about Sunderland where I live. The council are officially warning that a local lock down will be inevitable unless there is a rapid and drastic reduction in new cases (which obviously isn’t possible with the schools having gone back last week and the pubs and restaurants back to almost normal indoor service.)
