Sounds great!
Is an Arduino fast enough to trigger the ISD chips without a noticeable lag?
Looking forward to seeing your work. Crack on!

Q5. Played clarinet from 2nd to 11th grade solo & orchestra, played around with VCV rack and recorded some techno songs and go now to Bitwig to properly arrange the beats xD.
Q6. ~7 years of hobby projects (Python games, Arduino & Raspberry Pi projects) and now I am reading the Art of Electronics and the Make: Electronics series to get to analog electronics. I borrowed a scope and a frequency generator and its so cool to see those simple components do weird stuff

Good point. The arduino is used for switching. It is a question of making it easy to use with foot switches. These are the non locking type. I am making some progress.

On a separate project I am experimenting with programming Atmel chips in assembler. It may be necessary to use assembler if the arduino doesn’t respond in time.

It could be, but in my case it’s a real job. I work in a cold room and shuffle around insulin and cytostatics, among other things. I don’t even have clearance for the drugs room. Where the really fun stuff is.

Always fancied taking one of those lab well plates or cryo grids and using some indicator, like ph, to make a visual sequencer. Using a pipette to lay down a different note and character in every plate.
… Getting carried away. As you were.
