What am I building?

Besides a fire hazard. Any guesses?

Luckily most integrated circuits have sort of the same functionality and there are not too many ways you can build circuits with them. So this must be some kind of signal processing device.

Well done

THEY say, mine is sadly an ancient blurr :frowning:

I feel like such a doof. I was wondering why nothing was working. It could possibly be because because the silicon is on the wrong side of the board, and thus mirrored >.<

I hope I didn’t burn anything up.

Wait, which silicon is on the wrong side of what board? Stripboard layouts and IC pinouts both tend to be drawn from above, and I’m not sure how you’d manage to plug things in on the wrong side of a breadboard…

(but if this is indeed a silly mistake, we have a thread for that)

I was laying it out as if the chip was on the side facing me - but it is not! The chip itself is on the other side, not on the stripboard side. In spite of how many times I’ve watched the build video XD

Normally on a stripboard build, all the components (ICs and everything else) are on the side without the strips, and then you turn the board over to solder their pins/leads to the strips. The stripboard layout shows the component side, even if it also shows strips; they’re understood to be under, if you know what I mean.
