LOL I have one of those kits or one similar .
Horn playing as an expression of the plumber’s art is not new.
Just imagine trying to play through a performance of a Richard Strauss or Mahler symphony with nothing but a box of assorted pipes and some grease.

BTW: in case it isn’t already painfully obvious, I hadn’t heard Men At Work’s song so I didn’t get the reference.
oh man that looks like fun , all kinds of home made instruments in there …
Yeah. In synth terms we could categorise the pre-valve horns with their configurable crooks as “modular.” The modern horn is, by that conceit, a “semimodular” instrument, in the sense that the crooks are all present and can be instantly patched in or out by using the valves.

It does produce some fluffy sounds !

Holly #@%!, that is a reasonably good description, and excellent excuses.
No mention of the 555 though.
Yeah the 555 was in the previous question, it tried to talk me out of using it to make a VCO lol. Even got it to write a simple audio oscillator in C++, and I told it that it would alias and should use minblep, which it did. Didn’t try the code but the general idea seems correct. It’s pretty crazy given how arcane this knowledge is that it can reformulate it. In domains it doesn’t know well, language models like this tends to hallucinate fake information instead.
Only posted this one above because I like how it tries to worm its way out of being caught not being able to make pictures with that [Insert diagram] lol.
I guess people forgot about the Thomas Henry 555 VCO… electro-music.com :: View topic - The VCO-555
