I’m thinking about am Arduino based sequencer module for which I might want to use rotary encoders, e.g. to select sequence length (say 2 to 32). Not sure whether I’d use a built in push switch or not, depends on the ergonomics. This’d be the first time I’ve designed something with rotary encoders so:
I’ve been using the EC11 types, for the clock divider and the rhythm generator. I believe SR passives brand, but I guess its all the same. Contacts are bouncy as hell, but that’s to be expected. With the proper hardware denouncing and interrupt capturing, no complaints!
I got some from ALPS, if I remember correctly. They are fine and sturdy and work great on my braids, but I was surprised how long the shaft is! The knob looks a bit funny now, but all good! xD
