VCLFO build worked on the first try. But I really need more lfo:s. This can be the main complex one, but a pile of simple triangle lfo:s would be nice.
You could just use Taplfo3 chips from Electric Druid and hardwire them for triangle output, I did the same for a pwm LFO. Easily build 4 or more onto a Cosmo panel.
Is there an advantage compared to just a simple 2 op amp triangle oscillator? If all you need is non voltage controlled triangle (or triangle and pulse) the ED chips seem overkill.
Probably not. And even adding voltage control to that 2 op amp triangle oscillator isn’t that complicated.
Well, anyway, I made a video about my current Kosmo rack now that I could say it has one full synth voice in it.
Some time ago I was happy to announce that we got twins:
Well, we got another pair. And although most people find it difficult to see differences between these as well, I as a parent do notice some. In particular how they respond to stimuli from the outside world makes it possible to keep them apart.
Your panels are cool, did you ever document your process to make them in greater detail?
Thx for your response. I will post a description here in the next few days:
Hello you beautiful people, its been a while but I´m still here, bought some interesting Synths, played a lot but the modular is still on my mind.
My question: is it possible to use the EL34 Tube for Sam´s simple VCA ?
Or is there any Stripboardlayout for theese things?!?
Love ya´ll thanks for the answers
THOGRE
I’m not sure which vca you mean.
The EL32 needs 6.3 Volts to power the filament and it is a pentode. Kosmo uses 12V supplies, so you wouldl need a separate power source for the filament.
The tube used in the Valve VCA is an ECC83, which is a double triode and the 6.3 V filaments are put in series so that you can use them with a 12V power supply.
Have a look here for a stripboard layout:
The valve caster also uses an ECC83.
So the EL32 is no drop in replacement for the ECC83 I’m afraid.
Note: in stead of an ECC83 you can also use a 12AX7.
I don’t want to get too political, but man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest. Okay, here’s some synth noises.
I love this video so much. Kosmo looking good! I think that’s… 3 Kosmos in the Nordics now?
So teensy wavetabler is done, moving (back) on to a clock after blowing up a nano and several op-amps, I have decided I do not like the smell of burning plastic, but it is all part of The Plan of course
you guys are always inspiring, you are up to some beautiful madness, keep it rocking
Oh man I absolutely love this tin can synth. Could you post a photo of your full set??
I built a minidexed module. nothing fancy just stuffing all the components behind 10cm and a lm7805.
while i had my laser going a also made something i can’t show you directly
I have modified my DIY 4010666 VCO to have CV on each oscillator. Video and circuit below. I have only put three oscillators in the circuit. Duplicate them for more crazyness.
Ah, that’s really cool! I’m also planning to make one. What audio DAC are you using?
i used a “RPI-HIFI-DAC-PCM5122” for about 35 credits from a big online store
I’m puzzled by the diode in the CV input circuit. Why did you include that?
