Life’s been quite busy, between finishing and defending the PhD, starting a new job, and getting a new house. Tonight I finally managed to build something again, the FC Meth Amp (big muff-type distortion/fuzz), Frankenstein’ed into Kosmo format.

nice , though I would have been impressed with you building anything with all that going on . good luck on the PHD , new job !

Cheers!

I’m sure @Dud would have built 16 VCAs in the meantime ((:

@Dud would have built at least one module WHILE defending his PhD

Module? The whole point of being vivaed is to make a case ;)!
Isn’t that right Dr @Dud ?

You’re all mad

after this case, a construction break is required to make music !!!

So, back to construction after lunch then @Dud ?

Ok i was joking, but I do know the feeling, I have been getting so much enjoyment from designing and building, I feel the ratio of time spent building to playing for me is in the order of 100 : 1. I love every minute.

And that’s what it’s all about. For me it’s more 5:1, but don’t let anyone tell you how to do your hobby

After I dis-repaired my MG-1, it didn’t sound very nice. It hardly sound at all. I think I know why …

I have fixed thus but will also swap the switched I had found to replace the gooey ones I removed and didn’t really look good. Some job has to be done to them as the 2-way switches don’t match 100% - legs to close together for the PCB footprint.

The prototype is nearing completion, still some final test to do.

or build a bigger house for the next round of cases
but I know what you are saying , I have built all kinds of modules because its fun but I barely know how most of them work . its time to spend time tweaking knobs and patching .
