Do you have any recommendations for a decent sound font player VSTi? My DAW(Mixcraft 9 pro) doesn’t have one built in.
Sforzando by ploque.
This could be the title music of a very spooky movie.
It does have a john carpenter vibe for real.
Thx guys !
@Jos well I had to look for “spooky” in the dictionary, and it is true that it is rather dark ambiant, i like this, and also thank @Caustic for the great reference !!!
I wouldn’t call this “my music” but I made a quick little three note jam to show off the rack as it currently is.
Given the details elsewhere, but left to right on the rack:
CCTV passive mult (DIY kit) > slew limiter (stripboard layout found here) > Cre8 Audio Chipz > AI Synthesis VCO (kit) > sub osc (stripboard layout from @peternoya ) > Skull & Circuits ADSR (kit) > 256k Labs VCA > Erica Synths Polivoks VCF (kit) > Dreadbox Ataxia > Mutable Instruments Ripples (kit)
Think I have everything in the rack doing something here, with quick and dirty drums and clock coming from Ableton
Lookit that thing go! Cool setup.
Thanks! It’s small and simple but even as is there’s so much to learn here, I haven’t even scratched the surface yet
Very cool sounds !
quick noodle with the Plumbutter2
First track with the Plumbutter2, Mononoke, and Fundamental.
Just a mess about with translating my earlier effort into a mod file compatible with actual gb hardware. Doesnt sound just right just yet, but this is part of it running the rom on an emulator. Should theoretically run on a hardware GB, which give me a bit of glee.
I think when i was transposing this on the tracker, i mistook the counter harmony when i was reducing voices. (hence the rather sour notes here n there)
Excited to have an older track of mine on hard copy!
This was the first track that I ever made on the Plumbutter - it was before I even owned one, and someone had sent one to me for repair, lol.
I was asked to be on the compilation and needed to use a PB or a CoCo, neither of which I owned at the time. Thankfully one was sitting here, after fixing it up, I recorded this in a single take.
Honestly, Its not my best work and I have learned a LOT since, but this release garnered me an Invite to privately create an Artists Page on Modular-Station!!!
I am pretty proud that my newer stuff will be played live throughout the days!
HELLO ALL!
Thought i’d pop in to show my new little remix i been working on, its been a long time since i came into this chat!
here we have 5 genres rolled into one, first is trapmetal, then psytrance, then futurebass, finally tearout/melodic riddim fusion
While it’s not the DIY synth, I did take my groovebox on holiday and found some inspiration after visiting the recreation of the Lascaux caves - Imagining some paleolithic ritual taking place before descending underground to make sacred cave art.
Dropbox - Lascaux.ogg - Simplify your life
Cheers
Good sounds !!!
It was recently discovered the explanation of some spots of red paint in the caves, like a small trace.
Acousticians have proven that these are specific places where the acoustics are excellent. Musicians of the time probably had to stand at these places to make music to take advantage of the cave’s maximum reverberation and natural amplification.
sounded awesome , hope to hear more .
