This is a different thing. this is a literal block of writing ( like a cube idk) it’s this idea i had when i was having an acid trip and it’s a really hard idea to explain unless im high (im on a break of drugs). My french isnt the greatest but i dont mean “a temporary failure of the creative flow in writing” as you put it lol.

friendly advice, you really should work on your ends

All advice is intended as constructive and friendly. I’m saying this from the perspective of a classical singer that’s gotten into making a diy synth… I’m not a mixing engineer, or a mastering engineer,…

Nope. Too rough for release. Low end needs work. Seems like it’s distorted in a bad way. Clipping.

For some reason I also have the feeling your bass isn’t centre. I could be hearing this wrong though. I just don’t hear it dead centre. It feels like it could have more space. Feels pretty low-mid to mid heavy. Also stereo effect seems like patches. It could be more intentional. Like it’s pretty wide, but everything is in the same way…

I’m missing some ear candy. Some textures. Some silences, which you could fill with some effects. Or just a delay effect, etc…

Also did you tune your kick? Because it feels off…

Needs more variation for my taste. More automation, more variation on theme, … An intro that’s not a buildup, a B-secttion with modulation,…

Just steal a structure from an artist you admire. Now it’s: Buildup (intro), A, Bridge, A So it’s basically AA.

Normally I sandwich feedbackwise, but I’m lazy. So everything I didn’t say I missed or was good.

I would say work on it… Get more feedback, work on it again and get more feedback… Then again, I’ll probably never release anything… So…

“Litty Titty?” Are you sure that’s the name you want to give to a song?

I totally agree. once i master the track and get rid of clipping and really just add more variation I’ll release it. i made it in like a hr and is really just a thought a the time. I was really tired and thought it was really good. It isnt lol. I also agree abt the kick. I took a listen back on better speakers and it sounds absolutely ass. This track was very rushed and honestly have no idea why i put it up here. It was more an idea track then anything i really release. Bloc de l’écrivain is another example of me rushing to get something out here. Tbh “Bloc de l’écrivain” sounds totally different now (besides melody) because took my time lol. I have these ideas playing with all these different sounds and i get carried away. Most of my better songs have taken weeks to improve on them. These took like 2 hrs

Most of songs get ends but the first bit before the 2nd (breakdown idk?) bit Like | Intro -> Buildup -> Main bit of song | I cut it there because idk what i’m doing on the 2nd bit and want to put out the first bit first (the mostly completed bit).

It’s pretty ambitious to have a releasable track in 2 hours. Getting carried away is great. Don’t lose that. The feedback you get is just different. The perspective how someone listens is different.

There’s nothing wrong with getting something out there. I approve of that. Definitely don’t worry about how it sounds… As long as you get something out of it and keep working on it.

Besides. As far as I can tell. This is a pretty safe place to put something out.

Keep in mind this thread is just for sharing stuff. It doesnt have to be fully refined or even seeking criticism. You can just post a thing to share thats just a throwaway jam.

Hey it does mean writer’s block in French, apparently. This is a link to a French version of an article, despite the English in the URL.

Well I had a little fun this afternoon, I recovered sounds on Sam’s videos (kick, snare, osc … but also furby, Sam’s voices, … and Kosmo song.) all the sounds come from videos so not a great sound, except the robot voice at the beginning that I added
