MULT X AT (KOSMO Format)

Basic MULT + a single Attenuator in KOSMO Format.

1 x 6 or 2 x 4 (if nothing is plugged into the first jack in the second row it normalizes the other 3 jacks)

Single I/O with Attenuator. (B50k)

The MULT and AT work great, but the Normalizing aspect doesn’t seem to work.

I have never really used Cliff Jacks before but found a diagram where is showed the second pin in being the Signal 2/Switch but idk why it isnt working.

On those jacks you can see when you plug in which parts are switched. The two contacts that lift up are connected and the other two only connect when nothing is plugged in.

One thing that can be confusing on diagrams of jacks is whether you’re looking at the front or the back. I was using the Tayda 1/4" jacks for the first time yesterday and resorted to plugging in a cable and checking with a multimeter.

i think it’s a stereo cliff instead of a switch cliff… like, that second step is hitting ground instead of 2nd tip because it may be expecting a ring… lol.

I went off of this pic

They are the 6 pin versions (i still have no clue how I ended up with a bag of 30 of them… lol)

I followed AI Synths MULT Schematic and connected Signal 1 Pin to the Signal Pin 2 of Channel 2 but it doesnt seem to work.

Like I said, I might have the wrong kind of jack lol.

I know there are like 10 variations to my type of cliff jack and I do not remember where I got mine.

Are the normal Jack sockets we all use on KOSMO PCB’s Switched?
I could replace that first jack with one of those if it is lol.
switched jack
I would connect that Switched Signal to Pin 4 right next to Pin 2 correct?

For stereo, just don’t connect the middle pins to anything and they work the same as if they were mono. The box type is switched too. You may want to just get out the multimeter and check what’s connected to what.

Oh that much I know haha.
Was just digging through orders in my emails, these are just stereo unswitched… lololol
That would be my problem. :joy:

And sweet, I’m going to switch that jack out to an actual switched jack.
I’ll report back when its working the way i wanted it to. lolol

Everything else works just fine, it mults the way it should mult, and the attenuator will pull a full signal down to nothing

Yeah, that does explain it

Fixed it. Now it does as originally intended

First times I’ve ever used a switch on a jack in DIY!

I am going to be working on my multi soon, so I will likely be revisiting this thread!
