I’d have a hard time thinking of any topic whatsoever discussed by any people whatsoever I’d be willing to sit through four hours of chatting about. Life’s too short. Go do something.
Yes, many YouTubers have not yet discovered the benefits of editing.
That’s not the point of SMS. Think of this as more like a talk show but with interesting people doing interesting things instead of idiot celebrities going on about relationships and their latest movies. It’s a lot more fun if you watch it first-run and can get into the chat. Give them a donation and Hainbach says your name with a Grand-Canyon delay on it.
Well, you know, a lot of people don’t like the talk show format. Even so, I’d probably not want to sit and watch five Doctor Who episodes in a row, and I really love everything about Doctor Who. That’s how long that episode of Single Malt Synthesis is.
Eight distinct half hour chats spread out over a few weeks maybe. Four solid hours, naah.
Did I mention you’re expected to drink as you watch? The “Single Malt” part isn’t just marketing.
I get the critique but i always just think you’re meant to split it up yourself depending on how much time you have. Like, I listened to 2-4 hour long podcasts in segments on my 45 min trip to work (when you had to leave the house and go to an office). It’s quite nice not having to do 5 minutes of intro and outro every time you want to listen to it, you can dive straight in from where you left off.
Does seem weird on a yt vid but I guess if it’s just a chat you can do the same and just listen to it.
its not just chatting - there is a nice long session of them making a song over the internet
Peter decided to pick up and play… packing tape…
out of all the crazy ass noise instruments he has in front of him… packing tape… lol
I highly suggest at least skimming through and finding that part lol.
These on the right are gx12 (12mm wide) aviation connectors. I show them next to the gx16 connectors (16mm wide, on the left) which I bought a couple of weeks ago. I plan to use one or the other type of connector as part of my standard power distribution system, replacing the flimsy ribbon cables of Eurorack.
On first impressions the gx12 connectors have most of the benefits of the larger gx16s, but I need to test them for fit with the five core cable I plan to use. Maybe the collar of the gx12 is too tight to accommodate the cable comfortably. Both kinds of connector feel very solid and are satisfying to handle. Both have sturdy screw fit and deep pins so you know for sure that the electrical connection has been made.
Peter doesn’t join until, like, 45 minutes in. You can easily skip until then. Put it on while building something
amazing!!! I missed these. dang blue looks good!!±!
did that turn out pretty cheap? Im buying from think still but would love to just get a big old order, cus im always running out!
its not bad in the background as I was soldering up some modules .
Busy weekend for you
Got my Grandpa from Thonk today
Some one off pots for a few modules, a handful of Song Huei trimmers, and a couple more Alpha chips.
I’ve acquired a whole heap of different things over the past few days but I was far too busy, so this post is a compendium.
I acquired the art kit in Aldi, an impulse purchase I don’t regret because it contains so much I probably wouldn’t have bought separately. Acrylic paints and oil stencils, for instance. (Edit: I mean oil pastels.)
I also picked up the glue gun in a local DIY store and bought the glue sticks on Amazon. The stepper bits are from Amazon too, the 12 item rotary selector came via eBay.
And a thousand elephants! Well, ceramic capacitors, so more or less the same thing really. 50 values, 20 of each, via eBay.
This was sitting here at the shop waiting for me!
A customer seen I had schematics scrawled out on a piece of paper one day and we talked about tube amps lol.
Few weeks later, this is the result of that convo

Daaaaaaang! Super jealous!
