yay now I just need the right midi connectors to show up

Put in my Tayda order in on Wednesday and it showed up today. (Shipped from Bangkok and not from the warehouse they have here.) That’s just crazy fast! Now I’m able to finish up several modules that have been sitting for a while and will have the parts for some other PCB’s I’m waiting to show up.

Apparently yours didn’t take a side trip to Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Did anyone else read this and think maybe they ought to order something I even if they weren’t planning on building anything?

thats kinda scary , kinda like when things are going to good and you know bad shit is going to happen …
but yeah it seems like the private post is getting better , guess they have to justify doubling the prices .

I’m not convinced.

Have you activated loop mode ?

I have that same headset. I personally love it. One charge lasts a long time. Those midi jacks are the last thing on my list for the midimuso to pickup. Thanks for reminding me of that!

Nice, my Tayda parts for the midimuso should be here in a few days as well as my midi sockets.
Got some multiplexers the other day as well as some assorted led’s from Amazon. Tayda doesn’t have pink ones.

It’s been “on hold” in Cincinnati for about 11 hours now.

Amazon somehow seems to find my home every time without sending gear off to Latvia or Corfu.

Those gx16 5 pin aviation connectors arrived, along with a Dremel 4000 kit. The latter is on the heavy duty end of crafting, I admit, but I console myself that it’s more suitable for my preferred style of working than my big scary electric drill.

The aviation connectors look great! I had been thinking about using a four pin version that looks very similar, or speakON (four connectors) or powerCON (three connectors) which are super sturdy.

I also ordered some gx12 5 pin connectors which are slightly cheaper. The numbers 12 and 16 refer to the external diameter in millimetres. I’ll try them both and see which size I prefer.

Edit: here are the gx12 connectors I ordered.

I’m going to try making an enclosure for these connectors using my only-slightly-scary new Dremel and some 2mm A5 greyboard panels glued together. I’m keeping the sturdier 3mm panels for module face panels.

need to replace my Dremel , my last one died not long ago. they are very handy for cutting pot shafts to the right length and many other things . was thinking about getting the shaft type , please let us know how you like it once you get to using it . maybe post it on the new " TOOLS & MATERIALS " thread .
I will put it in the DIY category .

Are you sure it isn’t just the carbon motor brushes that wore out? Some Dremels have replaceable brushes. They’re much cheaper than a new Dremel so it’s worth trying this first.

the switch broke inside , a plastic part that I can’t glue . it is pretty beat up I have had it for years and it was the bottom of the line model . thinking about getting the better shaft drive one that won’t bog down under load . so most likely its off to the recycle center .
