I hope you guys didn’t really take a lot of time on that detective work. I was just making smalltalk…
Quiet, you, we’re having fun here
This is the owner of the voice my mind read that in:
This is an Amazon Prime order, or rather a number of orders that were made at around the same time and were delivered together.
15 metres of 14awg dual core speaker cable, some of which I will split out into single core and use for banana patch cables. The rest may come in useful as fixed cabling.
2x8 metres of self-adhesive velcro tape. That’s 8m of hooks and 8m of eyes each with an adhesive backing to attach it to module panels, case “rails” and the like. In practice I’m using a tall bookcase and A5 panels of greyboard, plywood or whatever takes my fancy.
Three of those cute little 0.96" 128x64 OLED panels, pixel addressable, I2C interface.
A rather scrumptious TFT touch display built as an Arduino shield (but you can use it with just about anything.) It uses an 8-bit parallel protocol. 480x320 with a 73.44mm x 48.96mm active area.
Wow guys! Just Wow!
Never published in hard back this is a first edition 1977 copy of a book I had when I was 10. Then it cost a pocket money wipe out of 95p retail. Nowadays they are a bit rare and some do go for a lot of money. But mine is a tatty cheap one (I believe the term is foxed or well loved). This replaces my original copy which accidentally went to a charity shop some time ago. All the cmos circuits we know but out of synth context which can be a very useful perspective when you want to be creative.
As for the stripboard?
Why ruin all that hard work eh? Wow!
Q: In the picture below, just how far away is my hand from the objects… answers on a postcard please.
I used to have a few R A penfold book which were interesting little books, i imagined he was ancient 30 years ago… but according to wiki he only retired in 2017
I liked his earlier work with Danger Mouse.
Another set of custom cut vector rails from a different supplier.
I’m gonna say, not sure I would ever recommend Metatronic Mods to anyone ever.
The rails are kinda scuffed up and I ordered these June 15th…
The other set I posted like a week ago I ordered from a guy on Etsy, and had them in 3 days, custom cut to a specified length.
Smdh.
I called Perfect Circuit right away and asked for a RMA. Then I heard this echoing little voice in my head saying “Don’t be afraid to try it.” So I opened it up and 3 of the 8 voice cards as well as the power connection card had fallen out. They’re pretty much like RAM or PCI E, so I thought “What the heck, give it a go. If it works, my holiday weekend won’t be ruined.” The cards weren’t labeled but the slots were, so I figured the voice cards were more or less interchangeable. It did power up after that, but the voices were all messed up (so I’d play G-A-B-C-D-E-F#-G but what I heard was G-A-B-C-C#-C-C#-C# or something.) I almost gave up at that point, but decided I’d try a few more permutations. I think it was the 5th try, and now IT WORKS RIGHT. Holiday saved.
Yes, I know the unwritten law of synths and I’ll be recording some Vangelis covers with it tomorrow if all goes to plan.
@Maxhirez, do you have to put in a dollar today?
Very nearly. But the sense of elation at the first successful scale (at least the first where I remembered to play black keys) was better than the dilaudid they gave me for kidney stones.
Just so I’m clear…what is
the unwritten law of synths?
Or is this like fight club?
Its unwritten, but if you must know:
If one gets a polysynth, especially if its called “Deckard’s Dream”, you absolutely need to make patches that resemble the music from Blade Runner (music made by Vangelis, main character in Blade Runner is named Deckard).
Also i find it awesome that ya boy is the first thing you see when you type cs80 into google.
I only just bought 40 more, after my 25 from 2 weeks ago ran out!!
Where’d all my jacks go?
Ah. Right.
ostendlrato #1 here we come! can’t wait to see what you do with it
Apparently here are some special precautions I need to take when using the NDLR. According to the manual:
- Do not use the instrument when there is a gas leak nearby.
Better get that gas leak fixed then (have been putting that off long enough anyway).
And there is this one:
- Do not TAUNT The NDLR!
I wonder what will happen if I do?
