I was recently reminded of my love for the Nord Lead 1 and 2 by an episode of Bad Gear. I hinted in the Virtual analogue thread that I might want to acquire a rack version. Well, here it is and it sounds at least as great as I remember:
The red is always pretty. Iâm not at all jealous.
Always liked the Nord piano sound and the clavia Nord c1 dual manual keyboard but I prefer my Yamaha P150 keyboard to any of the Nord keyboards todate.
Mmmm! Tasty synth. My love of 00âs era glitch IDM makes me want to get one to add to an obsessed âislandâ of a common theme.
*Island is being used in the Hainbach way. Watch his video on his idea of islands if you donât know.

PCBs for the Electric Druid digidelay came in!
Pretty pleased with the rounded tracks plugin in kicad, digging the aesthetic
Cool amp! Is it the one with the footswitchable blend circuit?
That always seemed very cool to me ![]()
Yep, thatâs the one. You too can be the Hendrix of the electric bass.
It also has an FX Loop. Iâm not sure whether this is normal on bass amps, but basically this is a couple of jacks labelled Send and Return. The output of the preamp comes from the Send jack, and you can do whatever you like and it goes directly to the next stage through the Return jack. This would normally be used with a pedalboard but, you know, itâs all 6.35mm unbalanced mono jacks. The possibilities!
Note to self: must be careful what kind of signal I put into that so-inviting Return jack. I donât know what it takes to ruin a masterpiece like this and I donât want to find out.
Looks great! I am torn between that one, a fender rumble 40 and a used GK MB112. Currently I only have headphones. Enough to practice, but it feels like something is missing. ![]()
I was considering a Fender, but then a strangely dressed young woman appeared and said:
âSorry, but youâre about to make a very big mistake. Donât steal that one, steal this one. The navigation systemâs knackered, but youâll have much more fun.â
Then she looked at me closely, squinted and said âyouâre a new one. What happened to the Scottish one with the eyebrows?â And with that she vanished as mysteriously as she came.
Also these guys are as crazy about pictograms as I am. The blend control is labelled with a line drawing of a blender.
Just occurred to me that in principle this would be an awesome woofer for my Eris monitors.
As an Englishman I do not use the word âawesomeâ lightly. If I meant fab I would say fab. Yeah Iâm Austin Powers without the charisma and sex appeal. Sue me, baby!
Maybe âseismicâ is a more appropriate word.
I find it really sad that so many short-arse hacks want to be me.
New case, inverted color scheme?
Nah, itâs for the Tindie market. Except the power displays which for some reason I want black.
I finally bought a new display, a quantum jump to 4K resolution time. This is so sharp and bright that it blinds me. But itâs first I bought as new since probably time of CRT monitors, Iâve just gotten them for free or bought used business ones for next to nothing. Which have been quite heavily used. 100% of the time of using a computer is staring at the screen, I donât understand why I have had that as my worst componentâŚ
And yes, I got it by mail. Also, funnily the mail-man had same band logo tattoo in roughly the same place that I have.
I said in an other thread i wasnât ready to go down the fab hole ⌠i changed my mind.
These are my first self ordered pcbs ![]()
Did they turn out right first time ?
I have a nice pile of âTestâ board ![]()
It was my first order and i followed the instructions of the howto-fab thread. next up will be the k25utils from ctorp and THE joystick thingy from analogoutput.
The LMN3 pcbs look good visualy. weâll see about the rest when i try to build the first.
Nice. The visual pun took me a while.
