Actually showed up yesterday…
Decided to give @Caustic’s keystep a new home. And he included a few panels with it.
Last year when I started getting back into synths and picked up my neutron I had debated whether to get the keystep or the keylab. I ended up going with the keylab because I figured I already had the midibox sequencer, and it would be nice to have a fullsize keyboard as well as midi controls.
But…the keylab is just a bit too big for me to use regularly in my little house. And I still don’t much care for working with a DAW so the midi controls aren’t overly useful for me. I’m pretty impressed by the keystep already though. Handy that it’s almost the same size as my midibox sequencer…and I like the feel of the keys much more than the keylab. The keylab is nice…but just feels cheaper and more plasticy next to the keystep. Add in the CV output and sequencer…I should have gone with the 'step in the first place I now realize!

Itty bitty PCBs to aid in breadboarding, with a penny for scale. At this size OSH Park is my cheapest option — though not fastest. “DIP” is perhaps not the appropriate term, since 0.6" wide DIP-8 isn’t a thing, but whatever.

yea the circuit benders order finely arrived now I can build the PHONIC TAXIDERMIST with the mod boards from CTorp oh yeah and a few other things I couldn’t help buying .

Not yet, I have like 10 BOMs to make which is really not fun hahaha. Give me a few I’ll get the taxidermist mod done tonight
