Introductions: Say hello, tell us about yourself and your projects

Wide variety of interest there. I am heavily involved in Ham Radio. DX junkie and venturing into the higher bands. De VK3IK / VK3AWG

I have always favored the lower HF bands and prefer CW going back to 1974. Have not been really active for several years as my interest in transistorless tech is just about full time now between the LLTP and the Synth project. De WA4JAT

Why am I not surprised there’s a bit of cross over between ham’s and DIY synths

I love CW but suck at it :frowning: Kept me from getting my general for years until the requirement was dropped. Keep trying to get better at it but my brain just doesn’t want to process it.

Built a FT8 Phaser in February and when lockdown hit tossed up a new dipole then managed to get WAS with FT-8 on both 40m and 80m over about two months. (20m was almost all with the phaser but I wound up having so much fun I used my stimulus check to get a IC-7300 and used that for 40m and when I was too lazy to switch back to the Phaser.) De N8INJ

Oh and if you’re getting into modular synth DIY you may need a bigger mixing desk.

I am starting into KOMO builds soon!! So far I just have a most of the Volca units and the miniaturized MS20! The TS24 console we have features 80 line inputs on mixdown, so I should be okay!

"Sniff! 80 huh?“ … looks down sadly at my wee Mackie micro… im not jealous one bit. Off for a quite unrelated cry.

Just showed your studio to a friend of mine who remarked how similar his set up was to yours; same monitors, same amps same sofa fabric even, right down to the “same coloured bongs on the coffee table!”

Those are candles not bongs.
As for monitors…I am running Fraizer CAT-35’s and a knock off of the NS10 I built in audio school.

Yes of course they are …
Knock off ns10. Care to share any notes?

They are JT-1s technically…basically a redesign of a bookshelf kit from parts express done by J. Thomas of CRAS. #295-306 6.5" Shielded Dayton mid- woofers, and the #275-075 Shielded Dayton 1-1/8" silk dome tweeter from parts express and here is a pic of the crossover design.

Thanks for sharing. @Caustic you’re a moderator, how do we start an amp and cab thread and put this and other cab designs like @BlackDeath s on it?

FT8 is huge at the moment. Bottom of the cycle and all. I am usually monitoring FT8 while doing other things. Enjoy.

Hey! I am Chent, I like House music, timetraveling and making stuff. Got into modulars a bit over a year ago, but been into musicmaking for almost 20 years. When it comes to L.M.N.C. D.I.Y. I have made 7 of the 3340 VCO’s with PWM and 6 super simple oscilators with the S9018’s. As for the Kosmo modules I got a filter from the first batch and fit it onto a tiny 12 HP 3U faceplate, it bearly fit in my case, but it works like a charm now, I am working on a Kosmo Jumpskiff, wich is just 4 of the ADSR’s that I will use with my modular. I am pretty much finished with the modules, but I need to make another PSU and a nice case as it is just sitting on the rails right now.
This is starting to get old, but you can see moast of my modular stuff here. I have gotten the last ADSR in now.

This is me testing the first ADSR with the Crave.
Look Mum No Computer 1157 ADSR
I make music, evry single stream meens alot to me, it would be amazing if you could please just check it out to see if it is your cup of tea.
