Well, as I’m new to this forum I’ll do the decent thing and introduce myself. Hi I’m Eddy Bergman. A few of you may already have heard that name via some synth related Facebook groups I’m a member of. I started with building my own modular synth after being inspired by Sam’s videos. That was back in October 2019. I already had a website so I decided to document everything I built and publish the stripboard layouts I made so that other people could use them too. At this moment I have published 36 synth related articles so I’ve built 36 modules. That’s about one module every week for 9 months straight It’s been an amazing journey so far and I’ve learned an enormous amount about electronics and synthesizers and I look forward to doing much more modules and articles.
I was browsing through your site earlier today after @analogoutput linked to it. Great work! I have a feeling at least a couple of your layouts will find their way into my system
Thanks very much! I’m so glad you like the site. I have to build a third case already before I can build more modules, I have no more space in my modular at the moment
I am using Eddys 3310 ADSR adaption ( mostly the datasheet but with amplification and inversion ) to do a PCB and Panel. I probably would have got it finished tonight but somone decided to book an hour long meeting right at the end of the normal day!! and then I had to fix some stage lighting connectors for my son, then fix the rack ears on a Roland D-110 that arrived badly packed, then struggle to order takeaway… And find myself at 19:50, hungry and still with other stuff to do!
So I will finish that over the weekend. There’s a bunch of circuits on varios websites I am interested in but Eddy has a good collection.
Hello LMNC massive
I’m David. I’m from the Bronx.
I was first introduced to LMNC through some kind of Youtube algorithmic alchemy though I have zero background in electronics, programming, fabrication or maths for that matter. I am hoping to spark the maker within by creating my own synth.
I’ve spent most of quarantine lurking, reading vintage synth user manuals, breadboarding, injesting lots of stuff I don’t completely understand, in hopes that it will all start making sense with a little patience.
I’m mostly interested in the sound design aspects of the hobby, so, heavy on the weird bleeps and bloops and replicating sounds for film production. I’m a newish videographer/filmmaker with a background producing digital work for ad agencies. Did I mention I’m bad with maths?
I am super impressed by how helpful everyone is on this forum. I’ve seen a lot of time and effort being put into helping out the n00bs - @Caustic, @fredrik [annotated stripboard layouts?!?!], @Dud, @Bitnik clearly need to be on Sam’s payroll.
Expect to hear more of me soon. I’m about to wire up my first 3340 VCO, and will have many many questions, as I begin building my synth space ship in earnest.
