At 19:30 BST (1830 UTC) this evening (4 August 2022) BBC Radio 3 broadcasts live from the Proms at the Albert Hall. The first half hour of this is the premiere of Finnish composer Kalevi Aho’s “Eight Seasons”, Concerto for Theremin and Chamber Orchestra. The soloist will be German thereminist Carolina Eyck.

Yesterday NASA released this treated audio representing sound waves detected from a supermassive black hole in the heart of the Perseus galaxy cluster 200 million light years away.

The result seems to confirm that the film Event Horizon is a documentary.
