Iām sensing a common thread today. Did you get a little nostalgic when someone mentioned LFO in the Schneider R.I.P. thread yesterday? I could do a little Cirrus or 808 State myself now that you mention itā¦
Yeah, youāre right, I should get back to working
Last night I took out my copy of Blade Runner (I have a boxed set and tend to go for the final edition). Watching on a decent computer monitor with my studio monitor speakers produced an enjoyable experience. When I told my son it was stunning when I saw it in 1982 on 70mm he was highly amused. Young people nowadays take high definition digital copies for granted.
What remains most stunning about this extraordinarily beautiful film is the very high quality of its cinematography and, of course, the music of Vangelis.
Some day there might be a digital dark age and you wont find these digital only versions. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Weāll just put the best of our culture into DNA form, and hope it doesnāt mutate into a brain-eating virus.
And of course, physical copies are nice and fine, until some stupid with a blowtorch burns the place to the ground.
Or rioting teenagers throwing petrol bombs.
Yup just goes to show the horror and beauty of impermanence.
to late , I think our " culture " already is a brain eating virusā¦
i like this ā¦
Me too. It does make me realize how my song collection has become too large and my mind too old to find the other artist it reminds me of. Also that I canāt tell if maybe-just maybe-they used a real live human drummer on these tracks. I do like that all it takes to turn metal into goth is an Arp Solina.
i like the first one !!!
Welp now thatās in my head for the week lol.
