Oh yes, finite element analysis. Amazingly cool stuff.

I remember as a child seeing what happened when somebody glued a metal plate to the moving magnet of a loudspeaker, laid the whole assembly on its back, and sprinkled sand or salt on the plate. Might have been BBC. Might have been an ITV schools broadcast. The sixties were a wonderful period for public service broadcasting, especially if you were a child.

Night Runner: Love synthwave, I think the lyrics in this video as well as the animation are quite stunning to be honest.

Open University and the marvelous Freddy on HOW!

Oh bloody hell, we’re both ancient!

This is a satire of Jack Hargreaves (from HOW!) by Peter Serafinowicz.

That was brilliant! I used to do the music for short films like that; Go by Bus, British Paint Sellers etc. There was an editor at the BBC who did the filthiest voice overs to old stock for a hobby. Smiling and feeling very old now. Thanks

Neu! Hallogallo. This piece has a ritual of a sort. Sometimes on a morning I put this piece on every device in the house that can stream YouTube. I stagger the start times slightly so that I can wander from room to room in a huge syncopating sound field, hearing and feeling the textures that result.

My wife must love me very much.

Classic: “N5 from outer Space”

There are more of these ‘Analog Sessions’.

I like one of the comments a lot: I hope those kids appreciate what they were given that night, I doubt they'll see anything like it again for a long time :D

How do I embed a link to youtube properly?

Just paste in the link on its own line in plain text.

Just pasting the link on its own *should* work:

Not sure why it didn’t work for you, you could try editing your comment, removing and adding the link again, and waiting for the video to appear in the preview before saving.

(the video above is same song, but the “two burglars” session. “They tried every button but still couldn’t turn the burglar alarm off.”)

I think the trap it’s easy to fall into is using the link function of the rich text editor.

That is exactly what I did. But thx also @fredrik. Now I know for future uses.

But aren’t those guys the coolest dudes you know their age?! Oh yes, and the music is good as well.
