How’s everybody holding up?

Rough day for us folks in the US.

The freedom to do what you want with your body is essential, no one should choose for you, it’s really a very serious and worrying moment, which also risks having an influence for the rest of the world.

I see that in France at least there are signs that a broad coalition of parties may support a move to enshrine the right to choose termination of ones own pregnancy in the constitution. So outside the USA it isn’t all bad.

Well I didn’t get this new job I’d applied for and I’m a little disappointed that I wasn’t even invited for an interview. Maybe they had a candidate already but had to make a public tender by law. On the other hand the salary would have very likely been less than I earn now.
However it sounded very tempting to become the technical director of this truly unique facility, the Hertz-Lab and the “Kubus”

yeah that sucks , sorry you didn’t get the job . it looks like a pretty cool place. but who knows it might have meant dealing with rich wankers all the time buy the looks of the place.

Yes that studio costed a ridiculous amount of money. But the whole thing is a state institution and I think they have to fight increasingly hard for their public funding now.

I don’t know whether this is a UK-only thing, but in the last half hour it’s been almost as if everybody was holding their breath while the Wimbledon Men’s Singles championship reached its final stages. I even had an Amazon delivery notification stuck at “three stops away” for half an hour while the crew presumably waited until people would answer the door. At the final serve, the map picture mysteriously resumed tracking the package.

It’s about teatime in our time zone.

Just heard a very gracious and well received speech by Kyrgios. Djoko is effusive in his praise.

Must be just over in the North East, we were acting normally over here

Hi folks. Just wanted to let you know I’m going to have to take myself off-line again for a few weeks.
As some of you may know I have ME/CFS. I need to up my meds again which makes me a tad ‘loopy’. My kids call it that and we’ve agreed they are not to ask for money or a new pony while Dad is loopy. So as the last thing I want to do is make a tit of myself online I’ll be coming off next week for a month or two or until I can either reduce the meds or safely adjust and trust myself not to talk rubbish.

In the meantime I expect @dud to have finished several more cases, @analogoutput to have combined his builds into a glossy best selling book and the rest of you add a good thousand posts in the build thread.

My best to all,
Sandy

I guess I’ll just have to talk even more rubbish to fill in for you.

We always miss you when you go dark. Don’t stay away too long, my friend.

Incidentally there have been some interesting changes at Schloss Bitnik. For years I’ve had this ridiculously huge double bed dominating my not overly large room, but thanks to successful experiments with traditional Japanese sleeping arrangements I now have plenty of floorspace.

It was the electric bass that forced this rethink. I had this beautiful blue string thing that cries out to be played daily, and nowhere to play it.

See you soon , take care!

Did the same thing in Hong Kong. During the day I could drape the thick floor shbiutin over a celling mounted drying rail for a great sound booth.

Btw playing the bass when lying down is a brilliant way to learn how to breathe when you play. It becomes natural after a while and saves you from tensing up or worse holding your breath. And don’t even think about attempting the old bassplayer pigeon neck to the beat because… It was a recipe for arthritis then and now. Play safe.

Thanks @Dud but don’t be sad, new meds arrive Thursday for a ramp up from Friday and I’ll be potted by Monday. For me it’s like crappy time travel with the added bonus that I can rewatch star trek as if it’s brand new.
Et merci pour vos gentils mots.

take care , hope the new meds work for you . though the " loopy " can be entertaining so if you feel like stopping by … I won’t ask for a new pony or make fun of you .

Good luck on not forking out for a pony =D

Can’t promise to restrain myself on the pony front, so it’s probably just as well. The remark reminded me of this great Michelle Gomez/Peter Capaldi scene in Doctor Who.
