Eurorack Module Width Question

I’m designing a front panel for a Eurorack module - just 2hp unbuffered mults go get a feel for things. The issue I’m having is that the mounting holes are less than half a mm from the edge which doesn’t feel right, and I’m not sure they be manufacturable. (I’ll be having them made as PCB at Pcbway).

So, to check I’m doing things right: 2hp = 10.16mm. I’ve subtracted 1mm off that to allow for tolerances. Does that sound correct? So my final width is 9.16mm.
And I’m using 3.2mm diameter mounting holes. Again, is that correct?
Oh, and I’ve used 6.3mm diameter holes for the 3.5mm jack sockets (standard Thonkiconns).

Who knew there was such a thing as 1.5 HP? New to me. Anyway, they say the width should be 9.80 mm, not 9.16 mm, so that adds, what, 0.32 mm to your clearance? But they say the holes should be 7.5 mm from the edge.

Doepfer A-100 B2 is a thing, but I didn’t easily find any dimensions for it.

A quick github search threw up a few examples though:

Thanks, I managed to miss that page. The clearance is now up to 0.76mm which still feels pretty tight. I can’t see any hole-to-board-edge minimum listed on Pcbway.

If the hole is 3.2 mm diameter and is centered 7.5 mm from the edge, as in the Doepfer specification, then the clearance is (7.5-1.6) = 5.9 mm. Why are your holes so much closer to the edge?

(For Kosmo panels, I routinely use slotted holes which are 3.2 mm diameter on each end centered 3 mm from the edge, which gives 1.7 mm clearance.)

Well, that’s really 7.5 + 1.6 = 9.1. So 0.7 from the right edge. That’s the spec, though and it works.

Ah, the right edge. Wasn’t thinking about that.

That’s fine if you want extra wiggle room, but I find you can align them more easily with a tight 6mm fit. I wouldn’t personally go above 6.1mm.

I just draw up a 2hp module and used a template I found on the TINRS GitHub. Although I trust their template, I may still elongate the hole for a little more wiggle room.
