CD4011AE [was What did I buy these for?]

ok so there is something that takes CD4011AE ic’s and I remember that they had to be the AE type . apparently I had planned on building what ever it was but I can’t seem to remember what it was , any help would be appreciated .

LMNC used a circuit from practical electronics and made 2700 tein t drum module and soley sworn us to use only CD4011AE style chips, not the BE buffered ones . I can attest these really dp make a big big difference .

They’re CMOS quad 2-input nand gates. The E suffix apparently means the package is plastic DIL rather than, say, ceramic.
