The hardest part for me was getting the programmer (STMCubeProgrammer) to run, but it is easier on windows, I think!
I will make a small tutorial soon and upload the hex files to my GitHub!
I feel personally attacked
Hi Sebastian,
It now works but I still have a few issues with the display, I guess I need to reflow the joints. I couldn’t get cube to work so used stlink. Where can I download the renaissance firmware from or can you send it to me?
Thanks
Good to hear! Yeah, I also had issues with the display on one unit. Don’t forget to also check the pins that connect the two pcbs, I think that was one issue here
I made a new release with the hex files, including the modified renaissance firmware:
What exactly is the stlink software you used? I would love a simple method for programming my bluepills!!
nothing personal , I’ve just been to busy / lazy to take the time and figure it out .
honestly I haven’t done much building / playing in a month sense moving everything to the basement it took way longer than I thought so its just break from everything time .
Hi,
Mini ST-Link V2 stlink Emulator, cheap from eBay and st-link v2 program.
Thanks for the firmware, help and advice.
Looks good! Where did you source the display from?
Mouser, but I think I bought all they had in stock. That was 8, enough for 4 braids. Buying 10 would have been cheaper, but they didn’t have 10.
nice , which nanos are you using ?
I assume you mean blue pill. I am using this one:
Just make sure you don’t connect that odd 5v pin that was ground in the original blue pill.
so the 64kb and its working fine ? can’t seem to find the 128kb in the blue pill that was recommended .
The ones I got are 128kb.
I didnt realise that JLPCB only lets you do a minimum of batches of 5…what do i do with the other 3?
oh, thank you (blah blah blah gotta pad it out to make discourse happy)
Also what would i use as a replacement to the blue pill? I cant seem to find anything, only dead links and sellers that dont carry them anymore
Soundforce (original creator of the tht braids ) suggests this
But there is a change in pins, the top right pin was ground before and is 5V now, so make sure you cut that leg, otherwise you got yourself a short
oh i see, thanks, is it the 128kb one? i read thats important for whatever reason?
They said it is, on the other hand the listing says “64k” in multiple places and not “128k”.
