Braids THT in KOSMO format

Hey bud,

I’ll buy one of those braids sets from you if you got it!

Just built 4 of these and this is my dreadful first attempt at a panel.

Safe to say I’m placing an order with JLC straight away and going with the design linked above

I would also take a set if available.

The chip is the one bit I’m not too worried about so that’s encouraging. Thanks

That attempt at a rectangle looks like mine alright.

Best way to do rectangles? Circles reframed with rectangular card. …

Cory,

I had one aside for you. :slightly_smiling_face:

I believe I’m out of stock if all the ones aside are bought. I have those aside for me, @CTorp, @popflier, @JUXTAPOZ74 and @Riggidyboo.

Does anyone in the UK have a set of PCBs for this - not too fussed about the panel as I can do a 3D printed Plate

Putting in an order with JLC for a set of 5 PCBs (no panels… i can laser my own).
I’ll likely have a few leftover if anyone wants them at-cost + shipping.

EDIT: These are all sold. Thanks!

Braids PCBs are in!

I want to keep 2 sets, so that means I have 3 sets up for grabs, shipped from PNW, USA for a low $16/set including shipping to anywhere in the US.

Front Panel & Craft Beer not included

Hey, I’ll take one of those PCB sets if you still got one available

Hey sorry I should have updated this sooner. These are all sold. I have some more stuff coming in soon though and I’ll probably be selling off some of the extras of those as well.

Bueno, yeah keep me in the loop, cause I am super interested in this!

Hi Sebastian, I too am struggling to get my Braids working so any help would be appreciated. I would definitely like a copy of the Renaissance firmware please.

Thanks

Hey! sure I can help, but I need a bit more details  I can send you the firmware hex file with renaissance firmware adjusted to the soundforce boards, if you like

Hi Sebastian, thanks for the offer of help;

Module is built and there are no shorts. I am programming the 128k blue pill with stlink v2 and it seems to program ok, no error messages.

I have tried, original braids boot loader followed by sound-force boot loader and then hex and all the combinations of that.

When connected to the module and powered up in my case, the power comes on and the display cycles round and then I get a frozen screen with a distorted version of the boot screen, this is with all sound-force files. With anything else it is dead.

Okai, there is the bootloader and there is the firmware, and you need to upload both for the module to work. If I remember correctly, the soundforce website does only have the firmware and you need to get the bootloader from somewhere else.
How do you program? Do you use stm-cube? There might be an option like „run after upload“ or something similar. When you use that, you don’t need the bootloader the program just starts after upload (but then it stops working as soon as you disconnect power and won’t work on its own). You could try that just to see if stuff apart from bootloader works and then think about bootloader.
I will have a look again and make some screenshots maybe

Here you can see it.
I would suggest you try this with the “normal” soundforce firmware first:
https://sound-force.nl/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/braids.hex_.zip

If that works, get the bootloader (I don’t remember where I got it, maybe I compiled it from mutable instruments, I can send it to you, if you want).

yeah I am an idiot [ ok a boomer ] and my Kosmo Braids are just sitting in a build box [ to be finished ] because I am to busy working / lazy to learn a new language . so why can’t someone more worthy them me make a simple plug and play file instead of add this folder or that one to make it work ?
