That cute pot looks like its crossing its fingers coyly.
Or it needs to pee…
My lying spreadsheet lied to me. It said I had nine 2k trimmers; I had five. Had to use one 10k.
It also said I had a lot more jacks than I do, but I expect more this afternoon. And more 1n5817s, which I knew I was down to one of.
Does anybody do a “Stock Take” I feel i need to soon as I found a bag of diodes I bought at some point and have no idea why…
Yesterday I got some parts and was updating my spreadsheet, reflecting not only the new parts but corrected amounts of what I’d already had on hand, and thinking, “You know, it would have made more sense to do this BEFORE ordering the new ones…”
While adding the amplifier and mixer section to my megadrone some of the diodes turned out to be 3.9V zener instead of 1N4148. They made the oscillators interact with each other in a weird way. Took me quite a while to figure it out
My stock waxes and wains but my focus is on ensuring the next project bom is all there in the project’s box.
What a bummer. I would have missed that for sure.
I can’t see well enough to judge so I use one of those $5 component testers before I use solder.
My first submission.
I was so proud of my careful, neat markings and straight jumpers. after soldering the sockets I discovered my copper rows are going the wrong direction. lol.
Sorry, but I did LOL at that.
I begin to question certain life choices. drugs for example.
Do you think that more would have helped?
at this rate, not a bad pivot.
At least you discovered it before soldering ALL the socket pins
a bright side after all ♂
Bottom: Order for front panel that includes hole for non existent switch
Middle: Order for corrected front panel, but because they had some problem generating the image I didn’t realize until too late I’d forgotten to set the solder mask color, so it’ll be green
Top: Order for corrected corrected front panel. Please let this be right.
Yesterday: Snapped a diode in half, soldered in a transistor the wrong way round, realized I ordered the wrong capacitors but installed them anyway, then burned myself with a soldering iron, then ran over my pile of ICs with my chair while I was recoiling in pain. Cool cool cool.
… let the iron fall on the floor while running to the first aid kit, had a beer for relief until the fire alarm rang…
