4K7 vs 5K potentiometers

I noticed a few modules that needed 4k7 pots. Is it possible to get away with using 5k instead?

Yes. Potentiometers are very inexact things (usually ±20%), and most potentiometer makers switched from 1:2.2:4.7 (E3) to 1:2:5 ages ago.

(in many cases, you can use larger potentiometers as well, e.g. the MS20 filter schematics calls for a 4k7 but the schematics it refers to use 47k and the original that was based on use 100k)
