I feel like I have seen somewhere that one could replace the crystal on the WAV Trigger with an LTC 1799 to get some pitch-bendy behavior. Did someone write about this somewhere or did I imagine it?

Technically it could work, but it would probably often crash the whole thing and glitch out the processors communication with SD-card and DAC.
