Wall wart adapter for FC Power Supply

Hi, I’m beginner in electronics, and I build FC Power Supply just like Sam in his video. But when I’m plugin it to a wall outlet through AC adaptor not all LED’s shine. I tried 3 different adaptor’s, 300 mA, 1000 mA and 2000 mA. When I plugin 300 mA and 1000 mA only left LED is shining, when I’m using 2000 mA the other 2 LEDs are shine. Can you help me figure out what did I wrong?
I’m pretty sure I did everything correct when building FC.

In your picture I can see AC/DC wall adapters - I believe the FC supply takes AC input, so you need an AC/AC adaptor. Check the FC page for details on what AC voltage is required.

You need an adapter with 12 VAC output. See for instance:

On yours the symbol of a straight line above three dashes indicates DC output. You need to look for a wavy line indicating AC output. (It’d be a lot less confusing, I think, if they just said “DC”.)

Thanks, I thought that I bought AC/AC adaptor when it’s written on it AC adaptor.

Keep an eye on the symbols on your supply/s.
The ones with the squiggle ~ is AC and the long dash with the three dashes is DC. =)

Is this going to work? It’s really hard for me to find any other AC/AC adapter.

is that a ~ squiggle line between 12V and 24VA , if it is then it’s an AC/AC adapter and should work.

Also if you see something like 24VA (as above) in the description of the output stage, it’s an AC/AC transformer. VA stands for Volt-Ampere. A DC output stage would instead normally be rated in Watts (W) or milliwatts (mW.) The distinction is related to the way AC current power fluctuates throughout the cycle, whereas DC current power is more constant over time.

yep thats the cause for concern ac needed thjats a dc supply sorry for the confusion
