This looks intriguing to me. I don’t print panels but it looks like CadQuery can export to DXF/other vector formats. I could easily use this to make drilling templates for my wooden (HDF) panels.
At the moment I design panels using Onshape, which IMO is a great general CAD program but I find the sketching interface somewhat painful for drawing panels.
One commonly used feature this could help with is if I want to create a row of evenly spaced holes aligned in the centre of the panel. I like the idea of being able to abstract away all the fiddling about with centre lines, constraints, and linear patterns to a simple (more restricted) command that just works for panels.
Python is also the only programming language I feel I’m proficient enough at to be able to contribute to things like this so I’m happy to help code-wise.
That’s a yes from me.
