I thought this about the OP-1 for a very long time… until I got one. lol
I lucked out and used my building and design skills to get it for next to nothing by building an instrument for a friend.
That being said, after using it for a couple months, would I purchase one?
Yes, actually, it’s an amazing piece of gear!
Nothing like their cheap PO series
and then it gets it all wrong:
what is kosmo format?
The Kosmo format is a modular synthesizer format developed by the Russian company Synthcube. It is a Eurorack-compatible format that uses a 16-pin keyed power connector and a 3.5mm jack for audio and control signals.
The Kosmo format is based on the same principles as other modular synthesizer formats, such as Eurorack and Buchla, where sound generation, processing, and control are achieved by connecting modules together using patch cables. The modules in the Kosmo format are designed to be compact and affordable, while still providing a wide range of functionality.
The Kosmo format supports both analog and digital modules, including oscillators, filters, envelope generators, LFOs, VCAs, mixers, sequencers, and effects. It also includes a range of utility modules, such as attenuators, inverters, multiples, and passive attenuators, which are essential for routing and shaping the signals.
The Kosmo format is gaining popularity among modular synthesizer enthusiasts due to its affordability, compactness, and flexibility, as well as its growing range of modules and DIY kits.
