Schematic heavy questioning (Simple PT2399 delay and Triple Splashback)

just by touching the tip of the other male ? Magic touch. But that was a dumb question really. And I drew the female plug the wrong way. There’s definitely something wrong with me.

Maybe like that.

just kidding

Nah nah. Get the 1x40 sized headers and cut them down to whatever size u need with clippers. You see what those are for right?

Those headers are because sams design is two pcbs plugged into eachother. Depending on your design you might not even need them…

If you don’t have m/f headers use wire.

PS I’m absolutely loving your drawings especially the erotic ones

Yeah ! if I’m not wrong, they are the junction between the jacks and the circuit. the picture you sent is not the pt2399 right ?

Oh thanks  That’s really nice of you

im really digging the doodles @Alex1

No just an example.

On the splashback, They are to connect the jack daughter board to the main board. Reason for two boards being 1/4” jacks are much deeper than alpha pots and mini toggle switches.

hey thanks ! I’m on my way to become a professional doodler. I study doodles at doodling school.

Aaah I understand. But I’m switching the 1/4 for 3.5mm jacks. Are they still deeper than alpha pots ?

Nope they are exactly the same. Look at eurorack builds, most put all the pots, jacks, and switches on one board and the circuit on another stacked behind it and connected with headers

Interesting. I’ll check that too

Or, as was said, get a 40 pin header and cut off pieces as needed. Count eight pins, yank out the ninth pin, grab some diagonal cutters and cut it there. Don’t try to cut between pins 8 and 9, because one pin or the other won’t survive and with typical luck it’ll be the eighth.

I really don’t understand the dismembering procedure. I’ll buy the 8 pin from Tayda. It’s easier haha. But thanks ! Maybe one day I’ll get it

I’m looking for a 3.5mm jack on Tayda, but they are all mono. On the bill of materials, sam uses 1/4 " stereo. Does it really need to be stereo? Especially that all the stereo pins are not used on the scheme (I think).

Yep you good

yes but they’re all weird looking. I checked on other websites to see what a 3.5mm eurorack jack looked like.

They looked like this. So I chose the one on Tayda that was the most look alike. But if you tell me that the weird looking stereo is better. I’ll get the weird looking stereo

A switched mono like that is going to work in 99% of modular designs. We don’t like TRS cables. Way more common to just see left/right mono jacks

What’s the difference between TS and TRS ? Why don’t like TRS ? They seem nice to me.

Tip/sleeve or tip/ring/sleeve. If you look at your headphones they are always TRS.

Sleeve aka ground

TRS is actually two cables in one

Ok ! And why people don’t like two cables in one ?
