Powering the 3340 VCO (was Cem 3340 vco help!)

If you are the careful king of guy, which always plugs cables in the right way, just use simple double-row pin headers, like these :
https://www.taydaelectronics.com/2x40-pin-2-54-mm-double-row-pin-header-strip.html
Just buy them where you buy your other components, everybody carries them, even if they are a few cents more you will save on shipping.
Just cut them to the length you want, that’s easy, they are designed for that.

If you prefer box-headers, aka shrouded-headers (where you can’t plug the cable the wrong way around), they look like these :
https://www.taydaelectronics.com/connectors-sockets/box-header-connectors/10-pin-box-header-connector-2-54mm.html
Again just about everybody carries them.
The key (the “hole” on the raised surrounding) should be on the right (on the border of the strip-board).

Red stripe of the cable on the bottom.

Amazing, I’ll definitely go with the box-headers as I wouldn’t want to mess up the whole thing by pluging it the wrong way around, thank you so much for your advices, lets start building !

I have a single last concern concerning the FC power, I know I need a 12V AC - AC Wallwart, but I don’t know exactly which one to take, is there a specific one needed or any 12V AC will do ?
I know I ask a lot of questions and I’m sorry for that, but I really want it to work !

I think they recommend at least 1000VA.

From the build doc:

I recommend a 1000mA 12VAC wallwart for best results. This should give you ~500mA at +/-
12V and 100mA at +5V.

Hello again, I spent all evening looking for an afordable 1000mA 12VAC wallwart but I can’t find one for under 30 euros to be shipped in or to France, would any of you have any good deals for a cheap one ?
Sorry for bothering
[Edit] : would this one work on the FC power ? I’m not sure for the tip would fit in the FC power’s mount.

That should be fine and you can always cut and replace the tip or solder it in directly.

Well turns out they don’t ship it to where I live
I’m so sorry for spamming but would this one work ?
I wouldn’t want to buy the wrong one given the cost

It’s 12 VAC, it’s 1 A, it’s even the right plug size. It’s fine.

Nope, that’s a UK plug, not a french one…

Yes but I reckon buying it and using a UK to French adapter would still be cheaper than the others I found with a french plug

Hello !
I am back with my noob questions, I just finished soldering all the parts on my stripboard, and I have a couple of concerns :
- How do you know what way to put the CEM 3340 (ended up using an AS 3340 but hey) and the TLO72 in the IC sockets ?
- Do I connect the ground of the jack sockets together and then connect one of the grounds to the stripboard ? Or connect all the grounds onto the single spot in the stripboard ?
Thank you for your help !

There’s a notch that lines up with the image on the ICs. If you’re not sure you got it right, post a picture before you power it on. You can do either for the jacks.

both are possible, the important thing is that they are all connected to the ground (in series or dirrectely)

So something like this should work ?

Yes, that works… <= 20 chars at last

Separate ground wires twisted with the signal wires are less likely to pick up noise:

But the other way’s easier and might work fine.
