Output modules?

What is everybody using as an ‘out’ for their modular system? I assume that synth levels are way too hot to plug right into a speaker or amp. Any good schematics? Thanks!

I don’t think the question has been fully answered on any thread so far.

what’s the last module in the chain (VCA) and how do you connect that to

A) computer
B) speaker ( Small, medium, large)
C) Pro Mixer ( Line, Balanced, Unbalanced )

It’s one of those things that may seem too obvious to question.

You can go out of a mixer or VCA that has an attenuated output, into a mixer or audio interface (line input) and from there to computer and/or speakers.

OK so Befaco has a schematic online for an output module. This has a few features

I put this question on a fb group as well and apparently a few people have been doing what I’m doing – putting the mixer out through an attenuator and hoping for the best!

I think it’s all covered in the other thread, but here’s a summary:

A: attenuator (or fixed voltage divider)
B: for passive speakers, you need an amplifier. For active speakers, see next item.
C: for line/unbalanced, odds are you can plug it right in — good gear has tons of headroom. If not, see first item. For balanced, you need a driver.
