Nintendo MIDI Controller play melodies, finger drumming and play emulator games

Connecting my NES controller to a synthesizer, drum computer, sampler or any DAW is a dream come true! I made a Nintendo controller adapter, so you can play games, play melodies with customizable scales and finger drum with customizable button mappings.

Watch the video to see how it works, how I’ve made it and some previews

Functions of the Nintendo Midi Controller:

  • Midi Out - compatible with most music gear
  • Usb Midi Out - works with every DAW
  • Usb controller output - perfect for playing emulator games
  • 4 customizable musical scales perfect for playing melodies
  • 4 changeable button mapping perfect for finger drumming
  • changeable midi channels for both melody and finger drumming mode
  • saving all of the customizable options

Up to the next project

Cool! :cowboy_hat_face:
The schematic isn’t that impressive it’s the code and interface that took me a long time to make.

note: use a arduino with a 32u4 chip such as the arduino leonardo or the arduino pro micro… you can use it as a usb device such as usb midi and as a usb joystick/controller

these are the library’s i’ve used:
